There's also some arguments over if berserker is even the best ascendancy. There's definitely a case for Slayer with a potential Champion switch in the future since Champion looks to have a really high ceiling.
I'm still waiting to bait myself into a build. Snaking is probably the most reliable, but fighting 70% of the playerbase for gear isn't very appealing. Don't really want to do another archmage build after doing one in Settlers. Could do mines, but the miner builds tend to be made of wet toilet paper.
I'm really hoping they get us some more of those new gems soon. The wave of conviction one looks like it could be pretty cool, depending on how duration and aoe affect its overall size and speed. There's also some ideas of e.g. CWC with a movement skill to basically blink onto enemies and WOC, rinse and repeat.

Hm. Thinking about starting whatever on elementalist and maybe switch to a poor version of a kirby build later (as in, just play BV :D). Havent done that in ages.
New herald node seems nice, i feel the shock asc ist just a straight up buff.
Having to chose between shaper of winter and heart of destruction before getting eater/exarch jewels might feel bad.
Dont have any good plans otherwise tbh, and no real idea how what do level / start maps with, but meh.

I'm currently baiting myself into a Tornado of Elemental Turbulance Elementalist.
I don't think the topend is incredible, but I'm likely to reroll in ~2 weeks anyway.

league going wellish, vfos is going good but is very rippy. I'm pretty sure its because I just lack armor and once I get that my 82% elemental resists. I should be investing a lot more into defence as the dps scaling available is pretty intense.
I've got a wicked plan for atlas. when I Get my third map I'm going to the convert node to turn equipment lifeforce and delve gas into shipping fuel. I can squeeze in delve+betryal+harvest really easy and then juice from there.

Nah, it's just fucked overall right now. The mercs will hopefully get nerfed sometime this week, but the originator stuff is pretty bad, too. I'm just glad I don't play hardcore.

My plan was really bad I don't think betryal is good anymore for someone who doesn't want to get really deep into shaping your board, the conversation rates on the convert node is abject horror. Shrines+delve gas+expedition is my new thing.

I leveled with Spellslinger and then played Blight of Contagion (Trickster) in maps. But when I was close to red maps I was not convinced by the spell so I rerolled the whole trickster into Exsanguine mines (Reap mines in bosses). And I completed the atlas with that and farmed some currency.
Now I wanted something relaxed for farming Destructive Play (guardian invitations, Silos, etc) and Syndicate. So Im rerolling now a Witch to play Arakaali spiders with the Squire and the new helmet that let you have 40 spiders. Probably necromancer for more defenses (altough Occultist with profane bloom is always nice).

I've been ready to reroll for a couple days now, but haven't nailed down a plan for the next build. Been spending more time on pob than poe.
I think I want to do a build around Starcaller. Starfall is an attack which inherits its damage from the weapon, which makes it pretty different from all the other cast on crit stuff out there. Notably running into two problems: kind of low base damage and lack of ICDR to push the threshold.
Normally you get a big chunk from the awakened coc gem itself, but that's not used in this case. The only real source I've seen is the Like Clockwork FF/F for Shadow (which is pretty cheap), but I'm unconvinced Shadow is really the best user of the axe.
So far I've got a half-baked POB for Slayer/Berserker, Trickster, and Elementalist. I've also looked a little at Champion and Warden. Also undecided on what element to use - I've looked at cold and lightning as well as stacking different sources of flat (though I'm not sure the flat stacking has been that great). I guess Impale is also an option.

Exsang/Reap mines were pretty fun for a league starter. I played it to farm some ES gear and eventually swapped to Smite of Divine Judgement instead.

That was one of my starter candidates that I didn't end up doing. Felt like it was just going to be made of paper.

I did and still do Pathfinder-PCoC... ~5 more divines and i'll swap to Viperstrike of the Mamba (tried earlier, wouldn't recommend whiteout ~20-30 divine investment... RIP 500k Gold for respeccs :p).
PCoC leveling is as great as ever, in Maps i switched to PCoC of Bouncing which is just even better. I didn't get my 4th ascendancy (never ending life flasks) until my Atlas was complete because... I kinda forgot about it and didn't really feel the need. I could probably just further invest into that but VSofMamba should just be "better" (if i can get used to hitting my life flask every 3 secs  ).

I'm back from vacation and started a Cold Snap Ignite Elementalist... I didn't really know what I wanted to do so I chose that on a whim. Not happy with it but oh well.... I'm planning to go CI so it's gonna be super scuffed but I think will be able to run T16's smoothly once I get some ok gear to farm up for my next char. Not sure what it's going to be yet. I hope I get inspired soon. I just finished A7 yesterday and hope to get to maps today, so I still got some time to think about what to do next I suppose.

Fuck is that playstyle not for me. I could get a few not too expensive upgrades and they would improve it a lot but it's such pain to play... I think I just resell everything I put into it after playing it for 5 halfway juiced T16's. Give me WASD movement and i might reconsider actual melee but as it stands now... I didn't even die or anything but I plain hate it.
Any recommendations on what to play?

Araakali spiders should be pretty good with the new unique helmet doubling spiders + cheap Squire. Vortex of projection is a high DPS / good clear build, but low on visibility and not tanky. Smite of projection is pretty popular. Elementalist with pretty much anything that benefits from heralds + golems is strong this league. The golems die occasionally, but it hasn't been much of an issue. New SST of Trarthus works with split (Sniper's Mark) by making multiple copies of the shield and is pretty strong as a result. Pretty much anything lightning can make use of Doryani's Prototype merc.
I'm gonna be playing Starfall, probably Slayer. Currently working on acquiring a Shattersword for the sake of doing Rallying Cry (big flat damage) + Grace. I'm planning on going cold convert. Hopefully I'll work out the last details today or tomorrow so I can get switched over. Mostly just need to figure out my early gear plan for conversion + avoidance, but I already have some of the gear.
In other news, I finally dropped my first raw divine of the league at >400k kills. Probably a record?

You mean Viper Strike? I felt like that needs A TON of attack speed to feel decent when I played it years ago.
Unfortunately, I cannot give any recommendations because I'm looking for recommendations myself... I'm in white maps and after upgrading a couple items (still had A2 helmet and shield...) and switched to CI the build runs ok. It feels clunky though so I'm looking for something else in the long run... Not too excited to play PoE atm. tbh because I'm neither digging the Mercenaries so far, nor am I convinced by the new endgame additions yet (that might come in time)...

VSofMamba requires just one hit to apply the poison after you just run around a bit. Supposedly the proliteration is spreading the poison... Which is awesome when it works but boy is it awkward when it for some random reason doesn't (i'm critcapped, poisoncapped, permaflasks... So it should allways work). The range is just way smaller than on explodechests and the effect isn't lingering...
But my frigging Char is constantly deciding to hit air instead of the Mob right in front of him... I never had that issue and it's driving me mad.
For some reason it also plain doesn't work against Harbingers... The poison just doesn't spread. I have an Abyss Atlas and a Harbinger one... Abys is no problem, Harbinger (juiced to the max) just doesn't... I basically have to kill every mob one by one).

I leveled my Arakaali Spider Witch to 92, and it's feeling good. With the new helmet, a cheaper Squire, and the Amanamu’s Gaze jewel (around 5–6 divines the three items), I’m rolling over most content. Since I'm playing a Witch (tankier than Elementalist), I sometimes have to use Melee Splash due to not having Profane Bloom but it’s fine. I’m planning to do bosses with this build anyway.

Oh, I hadn’t heard of that build before, but I looked into it and it seems to use a one-handed weapon with three support gem mods from influence, plus The Squire, making it essentially a 9-link. Did I get that right? That sounds insane for Flicker Strike and I'm tempted for a third character
