Is it really? I tried recently to level with Bane and was astonished how they massacred my boy.

The only chaos spell I found decent last league was the "blight of contagion" one, because it cleared really well.
Altough single target was kinda meh. I wish they buffed chaos skills, they have been bad for many leagues. Bane, Souldrend, ED/Contagion, etc used to be good back then (Poison and Chaos Bow skills are good but they are different)

I think it also depends if you just want a build thats generally good but also not terrible at delving on lower depth (250-300 for example), or if you wanna make delve more of a focus and go deeper. If its the latter, DoT builds kinda suck imho.

you know I feel like with all the efforts GGG is making toward you pressing fewer buttons with the QoL changes, I should just leaguestart RF Chieftan again so I can fully not press buttons.

Well, another dps league. Gonna be a skip, even though its quality looks sick.

New Assassin really gives me COC Perfect Agony vibes. Can get a like 12% base crit dagger and easy 6+ power charges, which already gets you most of the way to max crit for both. Not sure if I'd want to use Infused Toxins (since I don't know which skill I'd use), but Toxic Delivery with even moderate chance to poison with attacks would pretty easily keep you near max stacks from cyclone + triggered spell.
It's hard to really plan without knowing all the bloodlines since you have to split points between the two ascendancies.

welp I'm back after long hiatus. Pretty baited by asynchronous trade. I've got nostalgia for Breach league so hoping its good.

of course the tree has a tree, hopefully the fruits it bears is well worth it or my rng is as cursed as it was last league.

yeah I changed my mind and I'm most likely going bow blasting.

Wand blasting is definitely a contender with all the new stuff. I'm still vaguely stuck on the idea of assassin crit poison and I'd expect Asenath's explosions to feel pretty good in a circle league. There's also the blight of contagion hiero builds floating around that have really good prolif. There might also be an angle where the vaal bloodlines/skills are more appealing since you can have souls ready before you trigger the breach(es) and you know you're going to want some extra oomph for that every map.
Trickster got pretty fat nerfs. I still feel like the problem child is the new ES bases, but I gotta imagine people are gonna move away from it pretty heavily. The real question is how many people will play the updated Assassin. Initial reactions seem generally positive, but... if the numbers aren't high there might be a world where Escape Artist FF/F is dirt cheap again (I'm not holding my breath).
Overall I think there are a couple of classes that might be in pretty prime position for league starting with the new bloodlines. Chieftain, Glad, and Elementalist all have a couple really good notables and are often lacking a good home the 4th, so they might be really nice fits. Ascendant also ends up with 2 points that usually just go to unlocking a starting position + a few passive points (although admittedly that's often the main reason to play ascendant). I'm hoping they won't withhold them all the way to league start.
The main concerns I have looking at bloodlines so far are first, that some of the fights are pretty hard to reach/defeat early on (e.g. Taskmaster) and the second is that some of them are interesting designs, but feel a bit lacking for their opportunity cost. The Vivid Cat (Elusive has 50% chance to be removed at 100% effect) is a design with potential, but at those numbers feels pretty weak when considering it's costing you two ascendancy points.
Primal Owl was either buffed or nerfed at reveal time - the website and video have different values (10% per reoccur on video vs 5% on website). The +3 max seals is pretty interesting though. Potentially you can get 8 maximum seals now, which feels pretty potent. I'm not sure if there are any other sources besides the awakened gem and caster mastery, but that's still a lot of repeats. Is it worth an ascendancy? Not sure, but it's interesting.

I don't know how to feel about the new Assassin.
All DMG can poison is obviously neat but the rest just isn't that great and you still have to stack poison chance for using it with spells. Unstable Infusion just seems bad? It's basically just +1 Powercharge because you'll run pcoc support on every build anyway. Defense is still not really there?
I don't know, I expected more... This seems more like a forbidden flame/flesh dispenser fo Trickster...

I was going to play anyway just because Async trade, I plan to use it a lot. Although I agree I expected more stuff. Patch notes were small.
I think I will play Flicker Strike from zero to hero as league starter. It has been years since last time. And probably a second character focused on killing bosses, invitations and ubers later. I don't know what build. Also maybe I do an assassin too, after the league is several weeks on.
I'm waiting for the 10 bloodlines reveal. Maybe there are some interesting nodes there.

I just hate that i'm allready arguing internally between going pewpew-bow-glasscannon as a starter and somethign that can actually Delve...

I think the main reason that would keep me from playing assassin would still be the lack of defense, yeah. Opportunistic is a bit too situational for my taste. And everytime in the past when i played Assassin (and its been a while, admittedly), it turned out to be a glass cannon that would randomly get oneshot, and the best solution was always more dmg / headhunter etc.
Shadowed Blood also seems to be more of a thing for builds that self - (ignite/poison/bleed) and use stuff like golden rule. Still leaves the (imho) more dangerous DoT ground effects to kill you, and with the amount of ele/chaos dmg in the game, i`m also not too sold on the recoup for phys only (altho its probably not terrible, but is it good enough to feel safe/Play assassin?)

Looks like there was a GGG post somewhere saying they'll be releasing the rest of the bloodlines and skills as teasers over this week.
Defense for Assassin will probably end up being similar to a ranger build, which is to say pretty meh. It really depends on how many people actually try to play it with the changes because the past few leagues have had sabo/assassin rates so low that Escape Artist FF/F was 1 div. If it's actually an approachable number then that really goes a long way toward making defenses feel decent. Otherwise, you've just got evasion with a weaker suppression and maybe some Elusive.
Really seems like a good league for minions, although I'm not a huge fan of the archetype. Accuracy getting removed is such a big buff for both ease of early gearing and more explicits to use for damage. The CDR mastery is pretty good for a bunch of minions. I think Spectres have been pretty good for the past few leagues, so I can only imagine they're that much better now with no risk of losing them or AG and all the other buffs.

are there any alternative to TFT, or is it still the main way to arrange services

Something entirely unrelated to the upcoming league - Is anybody here running POE on Linux ? Does it work, and if yes, does it work well ?
I just (or at least i think i managed to do it, time will tell) got one more year of win10 updates, but by now i`m pretty sure that i dont wanna use Win11 on any of my private devices at all, if i can avoid it.
Like, on my work notebook, sure. Thats managed by IT, and i just use it for work, and thats it. But the whole "yeah fuck you if your PC is a bit older, throw it out and buy a new one so we can sell you AI" shit really pisses me off, and i dont wanna have a perpetual fight against my OS because it keeps resetting my settings with each update....
