I do play HC only so uber is insanely rippy. I have some guys that I know that run uber but since I have very little experience with her I would need to play an account to that level + gear to actually do her and probably die and have another one that high and practice uber first on standard. The problem is uber practice on standard is expensive as well to me. I would really like to do her and I will probably attempt doing so but at the very end so its basically a one or two time thing for me.
Shaper I never did on HC nor Standard - i attempted him once with a ripped character after flipped gems but that didnt work so well so HC for me would still be hard as I am not very knowledgable about hte mechanics. I did all guardians last season relatively blind but didnt have enough damage for chimera (ads are scary)!
Build-creation. I will think about it :D I usually never do great builds on my own as I am bad in it. I think if you can run uber once you can run her twice or 50 times, but it is always rippy

She's definitely harder than shaper, isn't she?
Didn't have too many problems taking down shaper with contagion/DE but I couldn't even come close on Uber.

Uber is 100% way harder than Shaper. Mostly because a fuck up is easily alt+f4 for Shaper outside of a slam, which is the easiest thing to dodge.
Uber is way harder because one mistake is most likely an instagib unless you are wearing RoTP with Purity of Fire.

Pretty excited to actually get into all these endgame bosses in Abyss league. I spread my time over so many characters in Harbinger just to learn the game and experience a little bit of everything out of curiosity that I never made it past yellow maps...
I'm really interested in focusing on a build with a pseudo 6L. Saw several people try it with Tempest's Binding in this league and I think there might be more opportunities based on what I've heard about Shaped/Elder items (haven't done any searching myself). Mathil did something like EK for clearing and BV for single target. Really like that concept.

Just agreeing with other people in this thread: Uber Atziri is harder. You need more DPS for Uber Atziri, because if you cant kill split phase fast enough you are doomed. With shaper even low-ish DPS builds can manage with very strong mechanics, since shaper allows for more dodging. In addition, everything except for bullet hell is potentially tankable, while tanking empowered flame blast or storm call is a huge no-no. Lastly, not even just talking about Uber Atziri, but Trio and Vaal Duo can be very hard for some builds.
Regarding the Psuedo 6L stuff - it looks pretty cool, but I wouldn't plan too heavily around it until we know how rare it is. It might be insanely rare / difficult to craft, to the point that 6L's are just easier. We'll have to see I spose
Going to be playing Mayhem HC for like 2-3 days, my gear up for grabs after I hit 75 :D Probably frost blades just for fun, though will be pretty hard to clear kitava.

I think everyone agrees, yet Uber is the far superior fight in terms of mechnical design. If you are good and Atziri-expert (will make that up ...) you can actually dodge everything. The phys spears might be a bit tricky but its not impossible , even against uber to run around and dodge every stormcall, flameblast etc.
While shaper is a badly designed fight from my experience. If you do not have enough dps, you will simply be punished by a harder arena, Zana might die and the bullet hell is guaranteed death. I do really think we should have more fights designed like Izaro, Atziri or even shavronne+brutus. I believe those 3 fights are extraordinary in terms of how simply and clear mechanics can be and yet it can still kill you depending on damage levels etc.
Also mad mods should be working towards something like that. Imagine Atziri as normal map boss. She has so unbelievably clear mechanics even with castspeed etc it would be a well rounded fight. Izaro is easy to read to but there is room to fuck up.

Hmm I find Shaper much more easy to dodge. You can neatly stack all the frost bolts into certain sections of the map. The add phase is a DPS check, but it's not as punishing as split phase IMO. Shaper is easily one of my favorite fights while I dread Atziri. I can never get myself to do the 100 atziri's for challenges, I always get bored and switch to guardians or whatever. Granted I haven't done much uber since I only play hardcore, and the risk is just so high. Perhaps if I ran it more I would agree with you

I just hope they don't precede this neo-Shaper with a forced map Kitava or something. I didn't find the fight hard (except when it booted me to desktop upon finishing because my computer is too crappy) but it's basically the opposite of GGG's good boss fights.

100 Atziris is just boring because it's so long to get to her. 40 Guardians is way faster, and 100 Izaros is at least profitable so it doesn't feel like you're just grinding them for the challenge.

@TheYango, Atziri is always profitable in HC, its just a snooze fest like you said.
Yea I was thinking the same thing Faeny. I'm thinking of doing Doomfletch Scion to lvl 100. High Damage, reflect protection, and access to life wheel. I wonder if the loss of VP is a big deal though... maybe I could still take it?
