I'm crossing my fingers that the new volley support gem can make storm burst into a good skill. The new volcano...err, cremation skill looks kind of neat too. Also going to try spell cascade on everything. It's nice to see more supports that change mechanics.

And just how are you converting all of doomfletch's damage to cold?

The new VP location is in such a no opportunity cost location for anyone taking the attack leech cluster, it's odd to see GGG position something this way. And I figure almost everyone will take double leech over a hybrid leech + life regeneration combo?

I'm kinda feeling a "Cast on Meelekill-Corpse Explosion"-Build...
So this is scaling with firedamage so i was thinking Ngamahus-Cyclone (or whatever its called) and obviously would Need some second skill for bosses (but should be possible with the extra links we got?)?

Or as flicker for even more funsies...

Most of the damage done by Ngamahu's Flame comes from the fireballs it spits out. I'm pretty sure those don't trigger CoMK?

Edit: Just tested it, CoMK doesn't seem to work with Molten Burst.
If you put the CoMK in Ngamahu's it should work for the fireballs. But in any case you'd either only trigger on cyclone kills or on molten burst. For packs most of the clearing is done by the fireballs. Single target kind of depends. If the hitbox is large enough (hello Vaal Oversoul) the fireball damage is insane.
Apart from that you can also scale Ngamahu's via phys damage since it's converted, those nodes are usually much better than then generic fire damage. Maybe Oro's Sacrifice cyclone or flicker works better?

On a related note I highly doubt that xoph's heart will be available next league, so you'd have to path all the way up to avatar of fire to be most efficient with ngamahu's.

Taking a Ascendant could work then. Ascendant - Slayer can also leech over max HP and you can get a start from duelst tree to get easy access to new Vaal and the leech tree.

Anyone else doing something for Mayhem HC? I'll do some SRS/Spectre stuff but have no intentions of pushing for a demi.

Gonna HCSSF, hope The Coast isn't Invaders or I'll probably die a lot early on.

I'll probably play quite slowly (even tho I'm able to go fast but I'm not gonna race so nt), maybe even farm Tidal Island a bit when I'm good enough to farm exiles and they're there.

As interesting as this league would be for SSF, I'm neither confident enough in my own play nor familiar enough with certain levelling boss fights to try it in HC, ESPECIALLY with some of the crazy shit that mayhem can spawn

I doubt they can even spawn in most of the boss rooms. I'm up to Act 5 city now and haven't seen any Tormented Spirits in bosses, despite it often being the map mod. I almost ripped at Haku daily though, better skip all master missions with them I guess.

edit: Ofc I ended up dying at Act 10 Kitava, I just can't do that guy deadless with a character that isn't extremely ranged / totem. I was doing self cast Dark Pact Occultist, even did Merciless Izaro before.

Played HC for the first time in Mayhem.. overall I'm satisfied with the result.
I think I do like the gameplay much more when dying actually matters, though I'm not sure if I will continue onto HC in Abyss.

I'm not motivated to make more characters since this is a void league, so I put all my currency/maps/worthwhile stuff in gstash 2/3 for you few people in HC (if you need it).

I hate playing these void leagues so I spent some time respecing my lvl 88 standard character to tryout Lightning Tendrils in 3.0 patch. And I was not happy with a result. I could clear tier 10 maps but had problems vs tier 10 bosses. Killing them too slow, had to go back to refill flasks to be able to finish them off
Made a Crit Inquisitor MoM.

Also the LT gameplay with needing to release the button and then press it again to change direction is pure cancer. Good thing that is being changed in 3.1.

For 3.1 I was thinking about LT+CwC+Flame Burst Crit Inquisitor MoM by using Mantra of Flames to set enemies on fire so Flame Burst can finish them. I am thinking that should help vs bosses and such.
Or maybe I should do a 4L LT (maybe get one of the new rares that will give me a useful support so it makes it a 5L) and a 6L Flame Burst?

Most DPS seems to come from non crit version using Agnerod West staff but that one prevents use of both Whirling Blades and Shield Charges making movement options Leap Slam (terrible for a slow weapon like that staff) or Lightning Warp (not fun to use and cannot use Fortify).

You didn't miss much. I played self cast DP Occultist and I've rarely been so disappointed in a build.

Leveling and filling up the early Atlas felt nice enough, even though it's laughably bad vs bosses before your leech ramps up. But when you start flying, the build becomes boring and clunky.

- Though you can one shot a strongbox in the open, it will usually require 3-4 move+cast because every little tree, column or pile of trash will block your damage.
- Despite a large lifepool, the build feels very squishy with no extra layer of defense (freeze/shatter, block, dodge, etc.)
- Shield Charge is a terrible engage tool.
- DP is mechanically extremely unsafe. You want to be inside large packs for maximum clearspeed, and that's just rippy.
- Your leech comes in large bursts on a single frame, meaning any on-death effect will kill you if immortal call can't save you.

All in all, I had much more fun with FrostBlades in Turmoil. 4k hp on FB felt way safer than 6k on DP, and even though DP has maybe 5x the damage, FB clears so much faster.

And now I join the 3.1 hype club! Will it finally be the year of the Glacial Hammer?!

Yeah for as strong as the new DP builds were, I didn't enjoy them at all. Barely got into mapping on my DP Zerker and had to stop.

Thanks for the writeup Pwere. Your points are fair, I had more fun on my 2nd char which was RAT Ascendant. I died due to my internet dying just when I fought Gruthkul though, which made me quit the Mayhem race.

Especially freeze/shatter seems like very good/important in Mayhem.

DD with cast on melee kill viable? Been theorising a bit about it, but have no idea how it will work out, if the mobs are way too weak and you need something else to AOE kill stuff?
