tldr: I’m giving away free notebooks like the one above. We can only ship to USA. So, anyone in the states, PM me, and I’ll hook you up ‘till I run out.
24 months. That‘s how long I’ve been at it. And, about 6 months ago, I caught a “break”. A subscription box company called Robb Vices wanted to feature me in their September box. I said yes before realizing what I signing up for. Thousands of hand made notebooks. I don’t want to reveal numbers to respect their privacy, but it was ten times my total orders over 18 months.
Through this project I learned a lot. Supply chain problems. Importing problems. Manufacturing problems. Fulfillment to USA / NAFTA problems (I’m in Canada, for the record).
But we’re there. They will be shipped out in a few weeks.
They’ve given me an extra bunch of boxes to give away, but I ran out of American friends. So if you want a free box, PM me, and we’ll get you hooked up. Absolutely free, zero catch, I just don’t know anyone else to send ‘em to.
If you want, reccomend me to a friend or family or workplace colleague or something.

I remember the original blogs on this topic
Really neat items, if not exactly my kind of thing. Also I'm in Canada too

I can't seem to find you guys on Amazon.
Especially in terms of FBA (fulfilled by Amazon) you could make good use of their logistics network, selling in Europe/Asia as well without the hassle of setting up international shipping.
Seems like that could be a pretty profitable channel for you - give me a shout if you want some info or help setting that up (I co-own an Etail/Amazon agency - happy to help out some TLers).

I've actually been accepted on amazon for their "amazon launchpad". It's been on my to-do list for forever. I'll send you a PM.

Yeah. I do dot-grid for the smaller notebook, will have it for all of em soon.

I remember your blog and ever thought to myself whom I can gift one. Though many of my friends rather not have leather stuff and I'm incredibly sure I won't be using it enough to do the purchase justice... Maybe the time will come. Until then, best of success. Though you obviously don't need the wishes :p

That's good to hear - launchpad is quite interesting for start-ups and gets a nice amount of traffic to your products. Just send me a PM and we can talk about good ASIN (amazon identifier) set-up and programs which might be interesting for you.

You'd be surprised. Wishes go a long way. It is easy making a product. Building a brand is incredibly difficult. It's about reaching and connecting with people in a one-on-one way that resonates enough for them to want to become an ambassador for you. It's the hardest thing to do in an e-commerce environment.
Success is a perspective thing. Am I excited about where this could go? Yeah. But it's also been an enormous risk. E-commerce is new. It's difficult to get loans, financing, and outside investment. The budget required to make a dent in the ad-driven market is large. Competing with drop-shippers who have no inventory or manufacturing overhead is hard. Living is hard -- I have rent and a girlfriend to take care of.
At the end of the day, I'm hoping this big distribution helps recuperate physical costs and I'm thrilled I get to pay some people in my community a wage for building some cool notebooks. But success will be measured by next year
Maybe I should reach out to the team liquid pro store and hook them up with some engraved notebooks..

Got my notebook today. Really nice! It's going to replace my old work notebook and class up my office a bit.
Read the northbound notebooks section of the booklet that came with the box. Pretty cool stuff.
P.S. I'd love to buy dot grid paper for the Vice notebook if you ever sell it

I bought this from you on GoFundMe and gave it to a friend for her birthday. Really well made.

Glad you dig it.
It'll be there within the month. It's definitely a popular option.

Awesome. I'm glad we made a strong impression. Hopefully it resonated with her, too

Bought one of these for a friend of mine who is a writer and she loved it. Great craftsmanship, glad to hear things might be really picking up for you!

Thanks
And for the people sending me PMs: I am all out of the free boxes, but I would be happy to set any TLer up with at-cost Notebooks (materials + labor + shipping)

I just read your most recent newsletter and hope that you're doing as fine as it sounds! Love the way you describe your work on the site and I'm ever so close to writing you a pm about an A4 and A5 notebook...
Also how about a small GH </insert favourite player> signature edition for the TL store?
