With the inaugural week of SSL Challenge out of the way, it was time for the Premier division to kick off. Featuring eight SSL finalists, Season 2 promised to be even more exciting than the first. Leading off was the highlight of the night, a match between reigning Challenge and Premier champions,  herO and  INnoVation.
With his oracles having failed to do damage, herO went for a two base adept all-in that crumbled to INnoVation’s liberators. Down a game, herO called upon disruptors after losing double digit workers, but was unable to slow INnoVation's macro and was overwhelmed by bio.
 Dark cruised to a game one win over aLive with zergling attacks and baneling runbys. Game two went quite a bit longer, but Dark always looked firmly in control as he assembled a tremendous hive tech army and the bank required to remax any way he liked. aLive couldn't keep up in the long run and Dark took the series 2-0.
Solar won game two on the back of a brute force roach attack, but it was Stats' ability to safely reach high templars that defined the series. He needed tempests in game one, but brought the series to an abrupt end on Abyssal Reef with a chargelot/archon push off three bases.
Dear and Maru went the distance in a rather bumpy series. Maru reached a healthy liberator count in game one, but with only 19 workers he ultimately lost the battle of attrition. He bounced back with a quick game two win, but died just as swiftly in the final game.
While Classic found a neat timing late on in game one, ByuL dragged things out until his brood lords evened the series in the next game. Things appeared to be going ByuL’s way on Overgrowth, but charge zealots in tandem with a warp prism tipped things in Classic’s favor.

Don't worry, we're on the same page. Being a certified Koreaboo, the first message I sent out after SSL started was "hyunkyung is back!!!". I follow her on instagram and saw the new haircut a few weeks back. She looks amazing with bangs and as always does an impressive job with her hostess duties.
For the sake of keeping the recap short I had to stop myself from going on and on about her twice as long as the games.
