Just a heads up everyone: If you upload your pictures to imgur or another site, make sure your url ends with ".jpg". A lot of people are img linking to the site link, not the actual image. Alternatively, you can use the "Upload Image" tool just above the comment submission box which will upload your links to imgur and automatically put it in BBCode form. ATTENTION: We are getting WAY more traffic than we ever expected in our wildest dreams. Bear with us as we conjure up skins for everyone. THE GIVEAWAY IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED! THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR PARTICIPATING! WE WILL BE SENDING OUT SKINS THIS WEEK UNTIL WE RUN OUT! FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT: We are officially out of skins to give out! We felt it was important to write a quick summary of the event and explain why we ran out of skins so quickly. To put it simply, we had NO IDEA we were going to get this much engagement. I'm not even kidding, we expected maybe 20-30 posts and got over 600—almost more than the Reddit unboxing thread! Thus, our problem was threefold:
Keep in mind that LiquidHeroes is the WRITING staff at TeamLiquid.net. We are a volunteer force and a completely separate entity from Team Liquid the professional team. That said, it was still a major planning error on our part to post this event on Reddit and opening the floodgates for submissions. A lot of people missed out on prizes, particularly in the last 10 pages of this thread. When we began to run low on skin codes, we tried to prioritize TL.net community members and "quality posts" (videos, in particular). As far as I know, every video submission and community member received a skin. If we overlooked you, we are deeply sorry. We want to continue doing events like this in the future. We're already in the process of trying to acquire more (and more modern) skin codes to give out. We've learned a lot from this event, and we want to continue to keep building not only the TL.net community, but the HotS community as a whole. That said, future contests will probably have some sort of limitation to prevent us from running into the same issues. If this was the first time you visited the forums, I hope you don't think less of us. The LiquidHeroes team puts out weekly recaps for HGC events as well as high quality feature articles like the First Impressions series, all of which you can find in our Article archives. We want to encourage everyone who made an account just for the event to stick around, hang out, and join the Liquid community if you have some time...I promise we're a fun group  . | ||
