I'm a returning noob so I'm playing daily ATM the campaigns lol.
Think once I've gone as far as I can with those I'll prolly stop though as I think this game is way out of my league! Hopefully will be able to complete the hard mode achievements (don't laugh).
Shame they are stopping creating new campaigns cause I love the game but just not good enough for the 1vs1 side of things.

10 years ago i would have say 24/7, now I can only play yearly.. damn I'm old

I was pretty hooked on the game. Nowadays i dont even watch it. I may play a team game or two, if my friend is persistent enough.

What the heck are you guys doing here haha Force of habit? My last time playing SC was about 4 years ago. Christ. I've only posted a few times this year yet my all time average is still over 20 posts a week lol. My activity chart: oh gosh ETT quoted me and I missed it. I haven't seen you post in so long and you were the cool mod when I first registered.

My passion comes and goes for the game according to how my favourite players are doing.
I must say i loved the game a lot when Life was supreme king, it was very motivating seeing him play, I was making visible progress in HOTS, even got coached by some of the NA elite (it was really interesting to see how they think and approach various situations), was really invested passion wise in the game and really enjoyed playing it back then ; now the hype levels have stabilized to a lukewarm feeling, with some temporary spikes of passion when Dark, Snute, Scarlett, Nerchio are doing well, which inspires me to login and play every now and then.

Force of habit is a strong thing. I think my most active threads this year are the NBA, NFL, ABL, Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball Super, Game of Thrones and Pokemon Go threads. Nothing Starcraft related and only 1 related to videogames. I don't even watch that much anymore. I just come here to check results sometimes.

I've been playing Random race only since HotS after I quit at WOL in sc2 for 3 years. Now I am just only in master league level to have pure fun with all 3 races with diverse styles such as early cheese, mid-game timing rush, and long late macro game instead of trying to understand this game more or go back to my original level as in WOL, and still I feel like I am always forced to playing on limited similar meta and maps, no matter how I want to play differently in this game. And as a random player for 2 years until now, I finished 1v1 ladder season only one time during whole 2014 HotS ~ LotV.
In Korea, it seems the biggest problem is people think sc2 is kinda too obvious game, where you have to play in limited meta, if you make even one mistake then you are in danger to lose the game, and if you lose one huge fight then you never can come back from that. But, still I love this scene and can't quit that easily, cuz I remember how I played this game a lot during WOL, so I guess I will be sticking around and watch until this scene is ended

Never, the game now more then ever hangs on a razor edge where a single mistake or micro error can cost you the game. LOTV made the game even more punishing to make comebacks on and on top of that introduced a bunch of balance changes and units that seem geared to slaughter workers in the blink of an eye. Plain and simple, it's not fun, and it's not well designed.
WOL was the best incarnation of this game, if Zerg in WOL had Lurkers the game would have been perfect, until then, David Kim ruined this game just like he ruined DOW (with 2 out of 6 races being even viable to play)

I was about to raise my pitchforks on how the Never vote seems to be the highest but I realized I'm being stupid.
|
Used to be in the daily crowd now I'm lucky if I get to touch the game once a week, I feel my masters skill level slowly slipping away.

agreed 100%. I used to play Sc2 exclusively for a year or 2 when WoL came out. HotS came out and i laddered for a month or so. Ive tried LotV multiplayer a couple times, but its more so just to laugh when someone does/build something and i realize "thats actually a thing?!"
Like I got Battlecruiser rushed...but it doesnt have to fly across the map..they get warped in at my base...
Luckily I was just a lot better than my opponent from placements and managed to just continually expand and continually replenish dead drone lines while sending lings across the map to hinder him.... was halfass mining from 6-7 bases and lings were keeping him from mirroring. He would have won if he transitioned into anything besides mass BC and widow mines.. but i just massed corruptors and lings.
But when it happened i literally burst out laughing "WTF this is a thing now? Battlecruisers warping into my base?!"
And as i play i remembered why i dont play anymore... Widow mines. A unit that if u get lucky will instant win the game, and if you are unlucky will instantly lose you the game.... thats what the game needs. an invisible unit that has the ability to instantly kill all of my mutalisks/zerglings if i run over the wrong part of the map... lmao what a joke.

Just getting back into sc2... damn this expansion is amazing.

Husband and I try to play every night, we usually play 2v2's and then I like to ladder 1v1's. Team games are super fun, and I love ladder. Lately Ive been offracing on EU as toss so I can learn it, Im a lowly gold toss, and diamond Zerg NA.
This game is how I met my husband (at a LAN) and I will probably always be playing it. Only negative thing I can think of is I havent been able to find a good monobattles in LOTV, theres was a great day9 one in HOTS...
Also love to watch streams/Vods/tournys!

it's been years since i played sc2.. (almost) never watch it anymore either... and when i did watch it the other day i was honestly pretty bored with the deathball style of play
then again i got married and had a kid so~
luckily there's a huge brood war revival going on right now with english casting, so i watch that pretty regularly!
jaedong vs flash coming up in t4 soon!

I felt that spending another $50 CAD on LotV was too much, and now I lost interest in the game altogether.
I never cared about the campaign, they should have made a $10 version to access ladder. But now meh.

played the shit out of bw going up, and even some sc2.some but now i just watch, because im trash
