Top 10 music selections of this moment; I was writing a blog about what i learnt this year part 2 , but this turned out to be much more fun to make, so i will consider it part 2.
#10 Movement, originality, and cleaness in one bagpipe melody:
#9 When you talk about coming on strong, this is what comes to mind: A short, fast paced intense rock
#8 This piece never dies (cough cough). This is probably the first piece you recognize from this list. Thats my guess anyway, fuck do i know. A classic of classical music
#7 Music from videogames is heavily underrated: let us give some 'space' to this slow moving, misterious, mystical moment; a touch of eerieness is included
#6 dub a step, ship a reck, make it bun dem or pick another deck:
#5 This is where to start if your looking for an erotic moment; defo hot; and where not talking about the food;
#4 If you think classical music is boring, listen again: this is mars, the bringer of war modafuckers
#3 If it isn' t silver, then it must be bronze; if it isn' t a king, it must be queen;
#2 A soft growing, constant beat and enchanting voice: a little piece by a little silver elf
#1 Because epic is epic: good night, sweet dreams
Feel free to post your top selections of the moment If you post a full 10 list, please include 1 piece from my list anywhere you feel right so i can better relate to it.
Hey, thanks for a very diverse range of music. Much appreciated. I would like to comment on each track while I'm listening to it.
#10 Interesting... didn't like the beat at all, though. So monotonous.
#9 Not much can go wrong with Led Zeppelin. :-) Classic but not one of my favorites!
#8 Personally my most hated piece. Ever. I get aggressive whenever I'm forced too hear it. This is mainly because I had to play too much Mozart when I was a kid and secondly because almost everyone plays it wayyy to fast. Even the alla truca ring tones sound nicer than most of the recordings you hear from this piece. Even worse: In the town I live in, there are street "musicians" who play that all day long and they simply rape the piece and squeeze any life from it, that may or may not have been there one. Terrible crime. /endrant
#7 Yes! Game music is underrated. Is that a hung drum in this one? Sounds interesting, but I'm not in the mood for this kind of ambient music at the moment.
#6 Interesting and well done video. Dubstep... I guess you either love or you hate it. I'll leave it at that. :-)
#5 Oh yeah, dem moves! Disco music is always so fun, but you are not allowed to admit it :D Perfect music for ironing or cleaning around the house.
#4 Never heard of "The Planets" before. Thanks! This one is a little straight forward for my taste, but hey - it's Mars. What do you expect? This one is the only video I've watched 100% so far. So I guess that amounts to something.
#3 Queen :-) What else to say?
#2 I guess the reverberation in the vocals adds some kind of airy feeling to it. Even though I'm not a big fan of that much reverberation, I definitely like the overall feeling of the song: It's a light blend of syntheziser and classical instruments which is driven by an upbeat and reserved but kind of groovy baseline. I'm not quite sure why, but I like it! :D
#1 Haha, finally I know the name of that song! Probably the most overused songs in music history (next to addagio for strings). Funny, I would never listen to this just for the music. Interesting :-)
Now I wanna post my own "top 10" but because there is too much good music to choose from, I would like to pick something that for me relates to your picks. This might be a little more interesting and I get some variation in.
#10 It feels like our both number 10s are standing in the same corner during a cocktail party with nobody wanting to talk to them :-P (Please ignore the video, there was no other video of this song. The name of the song is actually "E". Good luck, googling that!)
#9 Warren Haynes is the man! Since you didn't have any blues/bluesrock in your list I decided to kick out Led Zeppelin for this.
#8 There are two underrated things in this video: Evgeny Kissin and the 32 variations. He plays them like nobody can and you rarely get to see the humorous side of Beethoven.
#7 Probably not the best video game music ever written, but man... those days were the days. My heart still misses a beat when I hear those first notes
#6 Your number 6 kind of stressed me. So here comes stress :-D (I actually like this song)
#5 Feelgood music that moves your feet coming your way
#4 The bringer of war? Pff, here come the bringer of love! :D (I sang that piece on a wedding this summer, it was awesome)
#3 Because you cannot improve on Queen
#2 Calm and secluded this one is too. (Yoda grammar) While your number two was a little happier, this one is rather melacholic. But I just could not bring myself to post a top 10 of this year without this song in it. Sorry!
#1 Let's keep up the theme of overused film music
Gosh, this was hard. There is so much stuff missing! Thanks for inspiring to do a top 10, though.
And I'm sorry I didn't put any of your songs in there. To me it just makes no sense, it's not like you can measure the "goodness" of music as a scalar value.

Now wait just a darn minute.
I was in bgvrtc's twitchchat the other day, hoping for the dong to stop bogarting and start playing some more instead. The topic of awesome RTS games emerged, and right off the bat I was like C&C Tiberian Sun!
Next thing I know someone says to me "@4face *tiberium sun" and I was like .. well I could've sworn it was tiberian but tiberium makes sense, it was the collectible resource after all. I let that scrub "correct" me like a scrub, now I wish I had stuck to my guns and told him to fuck off like the scrub he was, damn.
This is my favourite version of Mars, you should really check it out. My mind was blown the first time I heard it after having listened a different version for a few years.
