It's the full MMO except the expansion packs with no sub cost. The gameplay is somwhere between Skyrim and Dragon Age Inquisition and not in a good way IMO. The voice acting and storyline are decent, but everything else is kinda shit IMO.
I was looking for an elder scroll fix and I have to say I have been playing ESO for a while now(3ish months) not too seriously and I think it's actually pretty decent. I would say its somewhere between WOW and SWTOR feel of a game, but the combat and overall world and characters don't feel over the top. I like it and they have been updating it well. The base game has a lot of content and is well worth the no sub cost IMO. This is from a casual mostly solo play perspective. I was surprised there was no thread for the game, but I guess it really varies from person to person what they think about it.
Oh yeah. I nabbed it. Didn't know much about it til a month or so ago and have been really looking forward to it sense I heard about it. I played the first... hour? Or so? Not much at all yet really, but it's really well done. I didn't play Nehrim or know much about this going into it other than it was pretty hyped up and honestly I was just looking for an excuse to play Skyrim or something similar again. On a totally fresh vanilla modless install of Skyrim it looks incredible and runs well, and the opening 10-15 min was very gripping. Looking forward to playing more.
I love "ENderal Mod" skyrim total conversion, it has been a while where a game plot has drawn me completely. The music, the side quests, the main quests, the npcs, everything is really well done.
Really reminds me of a hybrid between Witcher 3 & Mass Effect 3 with Skyrim.
What lighting mods are you using for that pic? The only graphics mods that I have on SE right now are texture packs and the Static Mesh Improvement Mod.
How does the special edition play totally unmodified? I was planning on finishing Enderal first (or playing more than 2 hours of it... it's just low on priorities atm ) but I'm curious to try this. Would be fun to dick around in good old Skyrim without the headache of mod managers and updates for hours first. And that requires much less attention span than Enderal, having played through it so many times in the past.
Are there any go-to mods that are still required at all (UI, etc)? Or is it great right out of the box as they seemed to be going for?
Ultimately, the only reason to use SSE is if you want the 64bit compatibility for better optimization.
A lot of old mods are still compatible or are being worked on, but major ones like SkyUI are not (and given the debacle with SkyUI, is likely not to be updated).
I managed to get an old version of SkyUI working on my SSE. It's a modified version 2.2 that removes the warning box in the corner about updating. It's a bit buggy but better than nothing.

Did the HD version add attributes? Last I checked it was just skill ranks (which level up based on use and don't really matter) and your HP/Stamina/Magicka...

For character creation, you can safely ignore the whole system. Your use of weapons/skills will quickly get your levelups in line with your playstyle. Most skills will be at 15 at game start. The racial passives are far more important, if you're into min-maxing.+ Show Spoiler +
Breton/Dunmer/Nord resists are generally nice. Others are good for more specific things. Argonian/Bosmer/Redguard are kinda silly.
But it's Elder Scrolls, it's really not that important. Just pick the one you want to play. Plenty of fun to be had as a Khajiit punching dragons to death.
nothing really matters in skyrim. thats what makes it fun. just explore and not worry about the min/max stuff. you'll get so powerful naturally that you dont have to worry.
