Please post all answers to the riddle in spoilers!
This is my first riddle, please give me feedback. I would also be interested in a better way of presentation, like choice of words or even a rhyme scheme because I'm no native speaker
What am I?
I can float although I am made of metal.
I am sent out although noone wants to meet me.
I want to meet someone although then I would never float again.

+ Show Spoiler +Satelite? It's not like no one wants to meet it, they do repairs on it I think? But generally yeah, you'd want to avoid crashing into it because it goes at a crazy speed. Gravity = wanting to meet Earth. Obviously if it met Earth, it would crash, ergo, it would not float again.
or
Oil platform? No one wants to crash into it, but I guess some do want to meet it because people go to it. Wants to meet the oil / oil drilling site. Once it reaches it, it won't float, but stand on the pillars that are going down to the bottom of the sea.

+ Show Spoiler +Nope, A satelite does not really want to meet someone, does it? Can oil platforms get to a drill site and then never float again? I dont know. But this is not what I am

+ Show Spoiler +I mean, it could be a Missile, but if I extrapolate what you said for the Satellite to it, it's not the answer.
I'll stop now and give others a chance. xD

Warning, heavy spoiler! + Show Spoiler +You are almost there: a missle does not really float, but it wants to meet someone. A satelite does not want to meet someone, but it doesnt float.

+ Show Spoiler + I'm not 100% sure on my english skills here, but does a torpedo "float" ? I was under the impression that things that float do that on the water's surface, while a torpedo does its stuff in deep in water.
|
Maybe use yet instead of although? It's shorter and less jarring than the although (less syllables usually feels better I guess) Perhaps you should ask the "What am I?" after the three clues.
Good riddle, didn't find it (I don't have the patience and I'm extremely bad at them )

+ Show Spoiler +I think that's a good point; I don't think torpedoes float. The floating through water/ space was a good clue for things like satellites, but torpedoes get launched or otherwise sink afaik, just like a rocket.

I have one more for you, it is not mine though.
Three men travel for almost a day across an unknown distance to a meeting point. One travelled by car, another by horse and the other by boat. When they arrived they were all asked how they had been able to reach the meeting place. They all gave different answers, but only one word was heard.
Solution: + Show Spoiler +They said: /roʊd/ {rowed, road, rode}

can you float if you swim underwater? Not a native speaker. + Show Spoiler +would a torpedo classify? A sea mine classifies probably either way.
Didn't get the second one, that's smart. Expected an adjective like + Show Spoiler +, but the "different answers"-part somewhat prevents that.
Something I found on the net:
You heard me before, Yet you hear me again. Then I die, 'Til you call me again. What am I?
Solution: + Show Spoiler +
