Just a quick instructional post to spread the word on this. It's possible to avoid using the b.net launcher at all if you prefer. Personally I like the launcher existing for patching and messaging with b.net friends, but I strongly dislike having to actually open it up to launch games. So in this video I show you some options for having normal shortcuts that you can put on your desktop, start menu, taskbar or wherever, that'll open the game as if you hit "Play" in the battle.net launcher. The launcher must be running in the background, but it can start minimized to the system tray so you never see it.
I also show you how to open games so that the in-game login screen comes up in case you want to choose the account/region you prefer rather than automatically logging in to whatever account/region your battle.net launcher is set to. You don't have to have the launcher open at all to do open games like this.
For SC2 players with multiple accounts, it's nice to have two shortcuts: one that automatically logs in to your main account + region and another that opens the game to the login screen so that you can then enter your alt account and/or alt region without having to change accounts on the battle.net launcher.
ahaha, that's one of my favourite BW games ever. I still remember the ramble about how you are infinitely ahead when you gain an economic advantage, just like in poker. :D
Roaming agents in online bound games is "big brothermania".
With any "novelty" "advantage" this technology brings, a truckload of new challenges/dangers are uncovered and moreover created.
Bad juju all over for privacy safeguards.. not to mention simple freedom.
ps: I am bound to tell young people about this, knowing full well these concepts / ideals are alien to them and that kids will reject the very premise of danger / semantics altogether without even realizing there were any to begin with... Then again, that is the nature of humans. Not to say thriving for more / better / fairer instances/republican ideals to save us from ourselves is useless.. it is not useless, It happens (people fight for it) or it does not! And our "way of life" when we look at it (which most people don't) is often the result of us (mostly) losing inch by inch control over our own destinies. glhf
Wow thx dude! I hate opening B.net then pressing Play all time, and SC2 shortcut feels useless on my desktop... I shared this on Twitter so that people can see!
Does NonY stream these days? I don't watch anything gaming-related anymore but I remember his stream was very nice :D. Edit: Nice, he still streams SC2 it seems.
it still recquires to have the launcher in the background in the start of the computer right ? If so, it's a little pointless. I mean, I thought we could bypass the launcher.
