Apparently consideration for repeat offender only applies to fines. If you have a history of dirty play your suspension could be extended which is what makes this more ridiculous To be fair Sedin should have also gotten a couple games for his hit on Keith earlier in the same game. People are all up in arms over "repeat offender" when hes been suspended 3 times over like 6 seasons. Theres guys that get more than that many per season. Chill it with the 25 games crap. Keith fucked up yes but theres hits much worse that don't even get 10 games plus they aren't going to fuck a team like the Hawks for the playoffs when the guy that was hit didnt even miss a game.

First time since 1970 that we have 0 Canadian teams in Stanley Cup playoffs Different reasons for every team. Oilers continue being the worst managed team in the NHL. Hiller playing like an AHL backup all season killed the Flames. Price getting injured killed the Habs. Toronto is just Toronto ect. It's just a series of bad luck.

Honestly the fact that Price getting injured was the reason the Habs aren't making the playoffs is kinda shit. If the team needs a goalie that badly there a lot more wrong with that team. Toronto got wrecked by injuries early on didnt they? Flames over performed last season and regressed more than they probably should have this year. Vancouver is in a need to start a rebuild and tried to push it off with their shitty ownership. Oilers are still recovering from the shit show that was their old management and the Sens will probably be a solid playoff team in 2 years if not next year.

Difference between .920 and .900 goaltending is like 45-50 goals over the course of a season. That's going to lead to a lot of games lost. Senators are in the exact same spot as last year except they didn't have Hammond steal like 24 games in a row or something. Leafs are rebuilding. Vancouver is confused. I have no clue what happened with Winnipeg.

But... something I noticed yesterday and couldnt stop thinking about. They don't seem to enjoy themselves on the ice anymore.. The group/team dynamic and mentality seems off. The tight group and connection from past teams seems lacking and as a result they lose confidence in the team and go more like individuals. I know that they are stressed out and tired due to battling for the playoffs and I might be totally off but I'm still worried about this. :/ It's also something I believe is a underrated attribute with Babcock, his ability to wield together a team, create a great group dynamic and then keep it balanced with emotional control and confidence no matter the circumstances. This especially pays off in the crucial parts of the game and makes them clutch. Babcock is great. LGW

So far this game has been cruel for Boston...completely dominated. Panarin and Kane are playing out of this world today. Edit: And all of a sudden the game is 6-4 from a 6-0 I believe.

AV's refusal to play young guys with upside like McIlrath and Lindberg instead of struggling veterans (Girardi, Boyle, Glass) combined with an insistence on playing the same style every night even when it doesn't work will be the doom of the Rangers. Such a shame because this team has the pieces to challenge for the cup again, but they aren't being used optimally.
