Hi
I just bought Skyrim for basicly nothing. Been playing two days and I really enjoy it.
My question is if it would be better to add on Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn now or wait until I've played the game a bit more. Maybe discovered everything or at least most things.

The expansions go on sale regularly so if you aren't sure your interest in the game will last, might as well wait a little with it. Then again legendary edition (including all expansion) is like 10$ on steam atm.
They don't really change much game-play wise, but the extra zones / quests are pretty good and housing system in hearthfire is neat (plus there are a lot of mods expanding it further). Basically more of the same so if you're enjoying the base game you'd enjoy the added content too.

Add all 3 & mod the shit out of it.

Yeah I've heard something about there being a lot of good Mods. I wouldn't know why I needed them though. Or how to get them and use them.
Legendary Edition is like 7.5 euro. Maybe I should have bought that right away, since the game was half that.

Skyrim is much more fun with mods. I really preferred the ones that made dragons tougher, raised the level cap on all creatures, and so forth. For me the story is fun (but a bit fast in certain areas) but once you get to a certain level of toughness everything becomes super trivial. Explore away though...there is so much in the game.

Mods can add anything and everything you can think up. Difficulty mods, Survival mods, Combat revamps, New weapons / armor, Questlines, Mobs, Zones, full scale war...
Literally anything. :D

Hi.
I'm going to give you some advice contrary to what these other fine folks are giving you.
DON'T MOD SKYRIM!
Because once you do...that's all you'll ever do. You stop playing the game. All you do is mod...mod...mod...and then the modding can get weird...
Just enjoy the base game as it is!
(Or, if you really have to...download something like a minimal mod compilation and leave it at that).

If it isn't crashing because of the amount of mods you have installed, you haven't modded it enough. Once it does start crashing you start to uninstall mods 1 by 1 very carefully until it runs again.

I wont be modding any time soon. I'm not having any problems that I feel needs fixing at the moment.
I'm not going to get add-ons just yet. Right now I just enjoy exploring new shit with a character that is too weak to go where I take her

you should get basic mods from nexusmods.com that fix the game
SkyUI, maps with roads, unofficial patches.
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/top/?
i would also get the mod to make it so vendors have 20,000 gold so you dont have to be fucking ridiculous with the number of times you sell gear.

sky ui and unofficial patches are needed for everyone.

What is SkyUI? And what do you mean by fix the game?
How will I know what version of the game the mods are for? I mean... Will they work for Skyrim pre addon? Post add on? Online?

In general Bethesda games are broken as fuck, and rely some degree of modding just to make it a smooth experience.
For example, the UI is borked and a porting disaster. SkyUI makes it more PC usable (and a lot of other mods rely on it).
Most mods will show what's required. And there is no Online for Skyrim. That's an entirely separate game.

Hello,
I'm looking for help. out of the blue Skyrim started to have MASSIVE frame rate drop when turning. i use a LOT of mods and always had 60 to 120 fps even with 300ish mods.
So i did everything i could find on the internet. Then i hit rock bottom... i deactivated every mods. Started skyrim after veryfying cache. I still have those fps drops.
The only thing that stayed is the ENB. i really don't know what to do. I can't reinstall everything with more than 300 mods and 200 plugins Because deactivating and reinstalling doesn't take the same time
Anyone know how to fix this ?

your save file is probably already fucked up.

sky ui corrects the console UI somewhat.
the unofficial patches have a mod for the basegame and every DLC, named appropriately.

Bethesda games are not broke... I played Skyrim without any mods and also Fallout 3 and 4. They are perfectly fine without mods. Mods can improve the game or make it worse. What makes them good is that you can shape the game to fit your preferences. But that doesn't make the basic game broken.
