Personally I wish FanTaSy the best in whatever he does, but hopefully he'll join BeSt and Bisu and start streaming some Broodwar as he was the player who got me interested in Starcraft in the first place. Shame he retired from SC2 the second I got back into it wanting to support him, but I can't hate on FanTaSy ever. He'll always be the Prince of Terran to me <3

Didn't know him, but I can respect anyone who put as much into the game as he did. I'm not worried. Fresh blood will come out of KR.

For all the "no terran anymore"-guys: We still have Inno, Maru, Byun, Reality, TY, Gumiho, Bunny, Dream, Bbyong, Jjakji, Forte, Sorry, Cure, Bravo, alive, Journey... there is enough greatness still there and even more potential for that. Retirements are sad, but holes will be filled.

Didn't know him, but I can respect anyone who put as much into the game as he did. I'm not worried. Fresh blood will come out of KR. I think your optimism is misplaced. We have had so many prominent, or at least historically significant players retire this year, and almost no rising stars, and you still think the Korean scene is healthy? The last new, dominant player that arose from Korea was... Solar? Or maybe Dream? But they have been playing since 2013 and 2011 respectively. The truth is, the Korean scene is atrophying at an alarming rate, and there aren't any transfusions incoming.

On December 28 2015 00:13 Poopi wrote: Why are they banned from Kespa? On topic: fuck why all terrans stopping just make some z/p retire (except Jaedong he is a legend so we need to keep him) already. 80% of GM EU terrans are in the 170-200 range, almost no terran left to look up to. Skillwise there are enough left, but LOTV isn't balanced yet or the meta hasn't evolved enough. Therefore you can get cheesed down as terran, since terran play is much more preditable then for instance protoss play. It will take some time to figure the game out. Its like 2014 again, when no terran besides taeja and flash won premier tournaments and 90% of the wins were toss or zerg. This will be the case for the next 12-18 monts again, and then either the meta evolves finally or blizzard agrees that there have to be some changes.

Given, last I checked, Fantasy wasn't doing the best in HoTS about a year ago so who knows. Maybe he thinks it's best to move on with the current status of the scene? One thing is for sure though, SCII suffered a big blow with all these retirements in the last couple of weeks.
