Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the news of Heroes of the Storm. As a new, blooming game, there’s a lot of stuff going on. Don’t worry, we got you covered.
News
- Two Blog posts went up this week about ranked leagues. The first post is about placement matches and bonus points, and says that ranks 5-1 will now receive bonus skill points, and that placement systems will be less conservative for initial placements in the middle ranks. The second post is about party size changes for Hero League. Only parties of two, or solo players will be able to queue for Hero League. Teams of more than 2 will have to choose Quick match, or go to Team League if they want to play as five ranked.
- The Eternal Conflict ends on September 8th. You've only got a little more time to finish off those last few goblins you need for the portrait!
- The Rexxar Spotlight was revealed! Look for him to come out on the 8th!
- Developers say that there are two bugs on Infernal Shrines that are going to be fixed soon: Punishers have increased attack speed against buildings accidentally and the shrine minions don't scale. We'll see if this works to make the map feel less "snow bally."
- Another Blizzard Blog was posted talking about reporting options. There are several new reporting categories, and when someone has been reported enough for Spam or Abusive Chat they get a Silence Penalty, and has restricted communication privileges.
Tournaments
- The Top 8 of the EU September Open finished this weekend, with Team ROCCAT recovering from being dropped into the Losers' Bracket by Gamers2 and being able to win in an extended series. Since these two teams and Bob? had already qualified for the Europe Championship in Prague, Fnatic got the first of the final two spots, while Pirates in Pyjamas and Elysium Gaming Black had to face off in a special qualification match. Pirates in Pyjamas came out ahead, and so we have our full list of participating teams.
- After two months of fierce competition, the Heroes Major League Americas Season 3 finally came to a conclusion. After being sent to the lower bracket by their eternal rivals, Cloud 9 managed to secure a spot in the Grand Finals to face Tempo Storm once more. On the brink of elimination, Cloud 9 managed to force it to the extended series and win 6 games in a row, crowning themselves champions of the latest season of Heroes Major League!

We will see how this works out for them in the upcoming weeks.
