Overall Analysis Game 1: How often do you see terran open with mech and RAPE the zerg? Not so often. A huge mistake by JaeDong for deciding to mix things up and opening with hydras instead of his trademark mutas... and a bigger mistake for allowing some vulture raids to get huge kills. Flash played flawlessly, preparing for everything JaeDong could have thrown at him, and leading the game from start to finish.
Game 2: The past few ZvT's I've seen on this map have all been almost exactly the same: the zerg muta harrasses the terran to oblivion. And with mutalisks in the hands of JaeDong, you just know it's going to be ugly. The game seemed to be going in that direction, until a huge mistake by JaeDong nearly lost him the game. And yet, Flash matches JD's mistake with a mistake of his own, losing the small window of opportunity he had to take the game. Too bad for Flash, as a comeback from that would have given JD a huge embarrassment.
Game 3: Best ZvT I've seen in a long while. Honestly, if you've missed those crazy nail-biting games Savior use to play all the time, this is the perfect game for you. Both player's multitasking abilities were truly astosnishing. So many moments where the game could have gone either way. If you haven't seen this game yet, I highly recommend it. 5 stars.
Game 4: This is JaeDong's "how to deal with bunker rushes 101". Despite opening with 3 hatch before pool, JaeDong manages to stop Flashes' SCV/marine rush cold, and counter with perfectly timed speedlings. A short game, but a nice match none the less. JaeDong's calm answer and quick decision making brings home his third win in a row, placing him in the top 4.
A great series on the whole - Flash is really on fire lately. Very impressive play from both sides. I almost feel like their series will be the effective finals in both leagues.
Thanks for the highlights I think that Jaedong's play in game 3 wasn't quite as..perfect as sAviOr's when he was in God mode. He made so many tiny errors (running lurk towards marines, missing scourge opportunities) that sAviOr in his prime wouldn't have made.
He really picked up momentum the longer the game went though.
Nice writeup L2W. I thought Flash played this brilliantly (obviously Jaedong did too), and it was a bit unfortunate that he lost the games on Blue Storm and Loki. Blue Storm because that ledge just isn't fair, and Loki because the easy 3 gas at the start just allowed Jaedong to comeback from mistakes that should have cost him. On the other hand, if Flash controlled his Science Vessels a bit better he could have held it.
Either way, these were four of the best games I've seen this season. I was shouting at the computer screen non-stop from 10 minutes into the first game :p
