The WCS Ro32 roups are being re-drawn tonight (sometime before 00:00 GMT (+00:00)) after errors in the previous draw. Lots of rumors were floating around for the past few days, so TeamLiquid got in contact with ESL to clarify some concerns raised.
A topic that caused some uncertainty was the issue of whether or not it's fine for multiple players from the same region to be drawn into the same group. After having consulted with ESL, they confirmed that there can be a maximum of 2 players from the same region in one group. The previous draw did not conform to this rule and therefore has to be re-done.
Furthermore, it's been confirmed to us that NaNiwa was accidentally drawn from the wrong pool, furthering the need for a re-draw.
We were also informed that ESL have taken measures to accommodate for visa issues to allow Chinese participants to play in their Burbank studios. That means that the groups containing Chinese players will be held in the US. This however does not affect the decision to change the groups.
Now this is interesting news, thanks a lot. Makes sense with the chinese players and no more than 2 of the same region in a group. Very glad they re-draw and don't just roll along with their mistakes.
