Players will be split into four pools for Season 1:

Pool 1 - all USA and Canada region players
Pool 2 - 8 random Europe region players
Pool 3 - 2 random Europe region players, 2 Oceania/SEA players, 2 Latin America players
Pool 4 - 4 China region players, 2 Taiwan region players, 2 spots reserved for Europe region players with difficulty obtaining US Visas
All China region players will play Ro32 groups in US

lol, they are already missing 2 players in the 3rd pool

I dunno if that's saddening or absolutely hilarious.

People seriously need to chill. All and i mean ALL organizations makes a mistake every once in awhile. They quickly revealed this to the community and will have a re-draw.

I hope Naniwa and Kane get in the same group though... talk about Hype train!

Looking foward to seeing draw. DO WE HAVE A TIME?

ESL post

I don't understand why they're doing the draw this way, putting Taiwan with China guarantees that Taiwan competes in Europe, and also ensures they avoid playing the two EU players with visa restrictions (I assume those are Happy and Mana).

My question is how can some amateur ESL guys be in charge of this all? it was bound to get messed up.

And to remove all of the initial group hype now, and create this much confusion... wow... Blizz, you went from everyone being super hyped, to a complete clusterfuck, grats. How you could leave everything to ESL is beyond me, they are OBVIOUSLY not up for the task. It was really embarrasing to watch that one guy on the draw stream just laugh it all away, giggling, like it was no big deal that Naniwa was in the wrong basket.. eSports is never going to be taken serious with ppl like this

Quickly? They noticed the fault at the initial draw, they could have fixed it right there, by taking an hour off and reset the whole thing, they didnt.. The only reason they are doing a re-draw now is that the fuck-up was noticed by players and the community. Have you seen twitter msg's from the players? They are not impressed.

Putting Poland in a CIS group too, lol. I would expect the ppl in charge of something like this to have actually seen a world map. But it's typical.

honestly the groups were fine, there was no ridiculous groups (b was somewhat crazy) but that could pretty much happen anyway

had people not bitched they prob would have let this go, so re grouping does appease the community somewhat but it can fuck up the players who have already been practicing for groups that are now worthless...pretty stupid
