Hey, now you know how the English feel about the Scots.

why does this game hat me so much? played TO yesterday, got nearly perfect start, crushed poland and lithunia, allied with austria, life is going good. suddenly: Austria is in PU under Brandenburg, who instantly declares war for their Neumark-core. the following 50 years was a never ending struggle, as brandenburg declared war every month the previous truce ran out. Why embargo non-rivals? Seems rarely worth it.

Are religious ideas bugged? I started a game with The Knights and try to form the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Took religious ideas which is supposed to give me a CB against other religious groups but it doesnt.

Probably not the case, but: Do you not share borders/have a truce with the countries you can't use the CB on?

Ok that might be the case here. I only have sea borders.

Can you fabricate a claim?
|
Yes that was possible. But it doenst matter anyways now. Mamluks just stomped me And that after all the hard work of counquering cyprus and crete. I just couldnt make any friends except for Venice and they just didnt want to send their ships

I did it! Don't know how long it will last but I finally managed to form Jerusalem after like 1000 of tries :D

Nice.
I wish distant overseas made a bit more sense. Cyprus can be 0% autonomy for Venice, but Alexandria is distant overseas 75% autonomy?
If I cut a path from a Europe province in Anatolia to Alexandria, will it stop being distant overseas?

If I cut a path from a Europe province in Anatolia to Alexandria, will it stop being distant overseas? Yep. Has to be an uninterrupted path on land owned by you, vassals don't count. I think it's way better to avoid getting the penalty in the first place, so only taking land that will somehow be connected. If you connect it now you'll have to decrease autonomy for ages.

Not sure if you understood. I'm saying I would take a province in Anatolia which is not connected to me, but is in the Europe region. I think it would not be distant overseas? And then from there build a chain into Africa?

I don't think that'll work, I'm 90% sure it has to be a province connected to your capital.
edit: integrated an Anatolian minor, and then the mamluks, Antioch is considered overseas, as the minimum autonomy remains at 75%. will upload once imgur works again.

I think it will work, but to find out first I have to beat the Ottomans. I probably should have re-rolled until Austria didn't rival me, but what's the fun in that?
|
This is what you mean right? One cored European province first, then an Asian province next to it.
|
Ah, I guess that settles it. Kind of dumb that two adjacent provinces can be one overseas and one not.
If I moved my capital to Cyprus, that would work too right? Though Venice might be barred from moving capital out of Venice.
