Nevertheless there are other ways to find whether your opponent is building particular units or not. The same for other races. For zerg yeah you see an egg building for unit, however you never know which one he is building anyway. Until you'll find an Ultralisk Cavern, spawning pool or hydralisk den well you might just as well assume that he is going for mass drones. In other words scouting. So in terran barracks yeah, the building is definately flashing, though whether the guy is building marines or ghosts, well until the unit is out you never know anyway. 3rd. Starting w/ Terran, you can view all the blinking whether it's producing units or getting upgrades from engineering bay/armory or doing research in other buildings and add-ons. For Zerg, you cannot view any upgrades or research and you have no idea what unit will spawn from those eggs. For Protoss, you are able to see the Forge or the Cybernetics Core rolling or Stargate flashing, but that is it. You cannot view any of the research that might be happening at Robotics Bay Support or Arbiter Tribunal. The reason that I'm saying it's a balance issue is b/c important information could be given away to the opponent suppose the terran player does a scan at the opponent protoss's base and realize there is a Robotics Bay Support flashing/rolling/blinking and can easily figure out the Protoss player is going for a speed shuttle strategy. (because who would research scarab capacity or scarab damage upgrade early in the game?) Similarly in ZvZ, if the Spawning pool starts showing signs of speedling upgrade, giving away that information would be crucial in a ZvZ matchup. For those reasons and many more, I think it was certainly Blizzard's intention to show only some of the buildings that are going through upgrades/unit production. | ||
