lolwut? finally a non PvX finals and I missed it. Guess the ever ongoing PvSomething games hurt my brain too much and i didn't care about the game anymore I should be ashamed I know.
No, its not that I don't like protoss or zerg, it just became boring (to me) that there were only pvp or pvz finals the last few months. And not caring about the game left me missing the greatest matchup there is in sc2: TvZ (I hope it still is, at least it was like that for a very long time )

If JD stays in, I'm going to smash my Keyboard just to support him to get 1st! What you're saying is right but the big difference between JD and soO was 4 consecutive runner ups (6 if you count dreamhack and proleague) in the year. JD was second place across several tournaments in a span of about 5 months. I agree they're similar, but soO's story is much more amazing than Jaedong because he's playing in Code S. Making it to the finals of assorted foreign tournaments multiple times is impressive, making it to four Code S finals four times in a row is insane. Jaedong was a huge fan favorite but no one thought he was the best Zerg in the world in 2013. soO almost certainly IS the best Zerg in the world in 2014, which makes his streak all the more amazing. Talk about revisionist history, plenty of people thought he was the best zerg, and coming second in that wcs finals thing they did after every tournament is arguably more impressive then coming second in gsl.
Sure there were people who thought (and still think) that JD is the greatest thing ever, but there was no valid argument in 2013 that JD was better than Soulkey. Jaedong didn't just "lose" in his second place finishes in 2013, he got absolutely destroyed, by Polt, by Bomber, by sOs, etc. At least soO puts up a good fight (except against Solar).

Congrats INnoVation, now it's time to prove you're the true heir to BoxeR (and learn nothing from beating YellOw)

Naw GSL is way more impressive.

GSL is more impressive because it's not a weekend tournament, and more prep/consistency is required.

With everything on the line in game 6, SoO had no gases on his 4th base and attacked off creep over and over again. What was in the production tab? Lings, banes, mutas. No upgrades, no hive, just showing off his godlike macro with tons of units. One has to question the decision to keep hammering in like that. All he had to do was back off, make a round of drones and tech hive. Wait for the Terran to come to him on his huge creep. Any another Terran might've fallen, but not Inno.

I think we're looking at different versions of history.

Sadly not a single macro game in the whole series. I think soO should have gone macro after the first or second win - he made Flash look weak.
And not being able to defend 2 rax twice in a row with a proper BO counter is not excusable - this is why he isn't champion.
Congrats to Inno!

Honestly, soO looks considerably different when playing in a finals. I think we have to genuinely agree there is some kind of mental block at this point.

Sounded like a prettty dissapointing finals, not too sad I missed it anymore

No mention of the WM drops in the last game that helped kill 50+ workers?

enjoyed reading this.however the games analysis were very generic and in some instances wrong
