In the 1999 bio-movie about Kaufman his death has a chilling cold feeling. This eerie haunting feeling occurs because many people do not believe Kaufman is dying of cancer.
Kaufman had a very authentic fake cough he had been using in his routines for years.
He cornered himself career wise. Pissing off every one eventually he had no way to make big hollywood dollars. So faking his own death provides him with a quick and easy exit from the untenenable situation he was in.
Andy Kaufman is my favourite comedian. And, by nature, I'm an optimistic guy.
So i say Andy is still alive.
