I always FE. There's absolutely no reason to not FE. If you micro and scout correctly, there's nothing a zerg can do to kill you because of it. I always send out an SCV with my CC building SCV to build a bunker, depending on what my scout sees. Usually I don't need it since you can get around 6 marines by the time 9 or so lings hits, and in most cases the zerg won't try to do anything. As far as fears go... With foreigners, lurker drops are my biggest fear in the MU. It's extremely hard to tell if a zerg is dropping, but if you sacrifice too much to defend, you won't have enough at your front and hunting expansions. Obviously there are signs if you scout flawlessly, such as no early #3 gas being taken somewhere, or straight lurkers without muta harassment, but it's still really tough to see coming. With Koreans, the fear turns to mutalisk micro. There's a Korean zerg on CJ (edit: I'm thinking it might not be CJ, can't remember now) -- PRADA[S.G] -- that plays with me from time to time (he knows English perfectly; shhhh)... I'm about 1-30 vs him (never done anything to directly counter it, but I've built fuckloads of turrets/4 rax -- doesn't work), and I've never gotten past 10 minutes. He obliterates everything I have. He takes down up to 9 turrets at ONE expansion and never stops building mutas with +1. The counter is in super-fine marine micro, but I never practiced it enough to get it down correctly. | ||

I was making an attempt to get to know Tasteless and Testie better the night before the matches (which went decently well -- awesome guys), so I wasn't thinking about the games at all. When I was finally in the game, I said "hyung nim ~ gosu!" and he typed lol or something, and I think someone else was laughing trying to see who typed it from my side (I was trying to get comfortable). I made fun of Rekrul since I know they knew eachother, and we talked a little about him... then the game started, everything was going fine, and as soon as I saw his mutalisks I had a total breakdown, confidence went out the window and I just fell apart. | ||
