Well, with WCG happening this week, there wasn't a single ProLeague match in between last week's update and this one! The desire to poison TeamLiquid.net with my literary venom far outweighs my responsibility to the website, however, so despite the missing games there will be no missing update. Let the citizens rejoice, and a boring page of history be diligently recorded. Newspost, or the beginning of a revolution? You decide.
Fortunately there are two matches happening tonight, and they're on early. Here's what we're looking at:
BoxeR vs Stork
< Baekmagoji >
DaezanG vs oDin
< Blue Storm >
Rage/Clon vs TT/sigamari
< Hwangsanbul >
Oversky vs Freedom
< Python >
ACE seems to be learning the lesson we all wish they'd learned ages ago. Fielding their strongest possible 1v1 lineup and delegating Clon to 2v2 duties, they may have a shot against last year's champ. Boxer vs Stork is obviously the highlight here, and though it may be tragically one-sided, we can all hope for some magic from the Emperor. Boxer is currently undefeated in this ProLeague season, and most fans would love for him to stay that way. Daezang is sort of a mystery, the last we heard out of him he was wrecking Zergs left and right in the MSL prelims. Odin is certainly a zerg he can handle, so we'll get to see the Air Force's effect on little Daezang. Sigamari and TT pair up again for Samsung, leaving Rage and Clon very little room to win. Overskyshowed very poor form against Kwanro and Sea, but Freedom's micro problems early game and his penchant for fast expansions TvZ may land him in a world of hurt. In the eyes of a fanboy who believes, ACEy be able to squeak out this win (unless they send MuMyung to play the ace match... again), but Samsung will probably clean up nicely. This one's at 14:00 on the TL clock on OnGameNet channel.
Tester vs TheManiaMST
< Katrina >
maGma vs Sea.Jy
< Blue Storm >
Cool[fOu]/Bassen[fOu] vs sAviOr/Nbs[gm]
< Seongangil >
Eliza vs Much
< Baekmagoji >
After fielding their top lineup for their previous matches, CJ sends out the B team, and sAviOr is stuck playing 2v2. Like most top players, sAviOr got his start as a 2v2 specialist, so Cool and Bassen are probably in for a beatdown. What the fuck is a Bassen anyway? Tester faces TheManiaMST aka CJ_Memory on Katrina, and while Mania is pretty damn good at TvP and has been playing quite well lately, Katrina is carrier hell, so Tester will probably take the first match. Magma vs Sea.Jy... oh, man. Neither of these players could be called 'ZvZ Specialists' by any stretch of the imagination. Both players are under 50% in career ZvZ winrate, with Magma being slightly better at 44%. With Jy and Much currently undefeated as a 2v2 team (including a win over Reach/Zergboy), its a wonder CJ split them up, and a tragedy they got shafted with matchups they underachieve in. Much faces Eliza, and despite Much's 39% winrate against Zerg, he really won't have any trouble wrecking Eliza. That probably lands us in an ace match, in which case CJ will undoubtedly send out Iris or Darkelf, and either one of them is fully capable of taking out the trash. This one starts at 14:00 on the TL clock on MBC Game channel.
Watch these games! They're going to be good!
Sincerely yours,
