Today at work they blocked TL.net, joindota.com, steamcommunity (i swear i visited this once) and I don't even want to try to connect to twitchtv or reddit.
I felt so much guilty, like it was a personal 'warning' haha, I bet I was the only one that was visiting those websites (at least at my location, 7 thousand employees are a lot).
In TL case, I visit it (used to) once a day, most of the times three or four. I think joindota case is more because of the excesive game ads they have in the website. And steamcommunity, no clue.
Now I will have to work harder, or make it look like...
Well... shit blog post, but hey, could be worse,

pfft, just get around the filters

At my old job I spent probably 3 hours a day on TL, and wrote lengthy blogs while on the clock. 400k+ corporation though, not surprised I was white noise.

I wonder why they blocked them. I don't have any knowledge of companies' policies, but it seems like you should be able to go to non-offensive websites as long as it's during your breaktime. Screwing around while you should be working seems like a different issue than blocking websites.

You can always read TL through Google Translate :d

Many companies subscribe to services that provide block lists. They tick off what categories of sites they want blocked, and the service takes care of which sites actually get blocked.
So, it probably wasn't you, someone just ticked the box labeled "gaming."

they could have just updated their filters through a third-party that just happened to include those websites. My work has most gaming websites blocked for as long as I've worked there.

Then why go there in the first place? Unless it is mandatory of course.

In this age of smartphones, there are many ways to procrastinate with or without company resources.
