It doesn't make much sense to allow normal users who lack the tools to detect PBUs the option to report them. The amount of false positives would make the feature too unreliable to be worth having. Besides, most PBUs give themselves away either through shitty posting or admitting in some way that they're PBUs. The former can be reported for standard shitposting, and the latter can be reported under "Other" citing their self-identification as PBUs. Overall, a "PBU" report reason would make more work for TL staff than is necessary. Leave the PBU-hunting to the mods. Guess I shoulda made it a wink, I was being facetious in light of being called out by a PBU in the ABL

That should have been implemented. We'll have to bug R1CH after TI3

Would it be possible to make the text space for the report reason bigger than just one line? It's annoying when one presses enter out of habit and then the report gets sent before you are finished writing.

I know a few cases where I went to report something and hit enter before I finished.

Examples include flaming, posting links to hacks, advertising, and balance whine in Live Report threads.
- Select the appropriate reason from the drop down menu when reporting. If you need to enter an explanation please make sure the reason is clear so moderators can quickly assess the situation and deal the appropriate action. Please don't just select "Other" because it let's you type something in, using one of the predefined options allows us to moderate far more efficiently.
- Don't report someone who you have a personal gripe with or whom you are currently involved in an argument with. Let a third party report them if they are indeed in violation of the rules.
- If you repeatedly submit improper reports your privilege to report posts will be taken away.
- If you have questions about reporting you can ask them here.
Remember, the report button is a not a right, but a privilege. With it you can help us make sure the forums stay clean, polite and accessible but with it comes the responsibility of not making more work for us.

The comment box went away for everything but "Other". Why?

Rather they took it away for all options but the ones that say (explain)

The best bet in cases such as you've pointed out is to PM a banling and let them know what's going down.

Could we have the report button on own posts as well? So if you accidentally posted a reply in the wrong thread, you could report your own post and hopefully someone would delete it.

Just edit your post, remove all the text, and replace it with something like "Posted in wrong thread" or whatever.

Exactly what Archas said, we don't delete posts normally anyway.

Yeah, that's what I did. It was a 4 year necro though. ^^

I think being allowed to report a mod/staff should be looked into. Calling out a single post that should probably be called out is not possible at this moment. No one is perfect, and a little ego-checking isn't a bad thing. Just a thought...

You can PM another mod if you think a staffer went overboard.
