I've played at least one game with you, and ONE of my problems (out of the huge list) is that I try to play too many different champions so I have no depth of knowledge but a large breadth, whereas you're the opposite and you really know the champions you play.

yeah but I don't feel like I know anything so I'm not sure what I should restrict myself to? I'm not sure how to phrase it
just checked my lolking and counted, i have 24 different champions with ranked games this season

Yeah playing more than 2 champions in a role (3 for your main role) is ill-advised.

this is your only problem, you just pick whatever champ you like and practice it until you get good, just playing random shit won't get you anywhere worrying about things like champion pool and fotm and countepicks are all ultimately distractions at least until you get top level

You probably should also review solo lane basics, like knowing 3:00 is a common possible Jungle gank timing and ward accordingly based on their Jungler buff start. Well I was a jungle main for S2/part of S3 so it's more the fact I don't really know how matchups work out because I never really know what to pick/don't restrict myself. The only Jax games I've had this season were exactly what you said, I fed like crazy but just kept splitting and we eventually won/lost when I hit 40 minute mark lol Show nested quote +On April 03 2014 03:03 Ryuu314 wrote: If you're playing the fotm champions and are hitting a wall in your progression, it's most definitely an issue with how you play.
That said, you can get to Diamond playing any champion if you're good enough. It's just that some champions require more skill/effort than others. I know a lot of my issues are not knowing champion matchups well enough because I've not really mained a role this season, so sometimes I just get blown out of lane and I can't really recover
I would definitely stick to 1-3 champs and read up some good guides on lolking, solomid, and maybe lolpro. I would also watch some videos of pros, or high-level players. most pro's don't really explain what they do, but you can figure it out by noticing spell cd's, summoners, and junglers.
I recommend watching some of this guy's videos, he basically only plays Renekton, but most importantly he explains a lot of what he does too such when to ward, how to trade, etc.

On a side note, fuck Renekton, a properly played one poops on Jax in laning phase.
another note: Find a champ that's fun or feels comfortable to play on. Some champs will just may not work for you. For example, I'm fucking terrible/everything goes wrong when I play Jinx, (0-7 in ranked T_T) so I don't touch her.

Yea I'm familiar with his Renekton guide and he does a really good job explaining things.
I haven't actually watched much pro streams outside of LCS lately so I'll have to get back to doing that.

I have no idea, I don't even remember what champion I was. I know you were on my team and we were purple side I think

I had fun with him but he didn't seem particularly good. Mobility is rampant and your Q and E are DoTs that benefit less from spamming.
Malphite too funny.
See champion? Flash R DFG Q E Where champion? Repeat every 23 seconds.

Imo, people should off role whatever the 2 least desirable spots at the time(seems to be support and AD nowadays) and then pick one of the remaining ones. From there go into a 5-3-3 champion split.

Oh btw, Lee Sin says: "Master yourself, master the enemy"
easiest way to master yourself is to grind it out on one champ and understand his strengths, weaknesses, power spikes, itemization, etc.
then master the enemy by getting comfortable vs favorable, even, unfavorable and absolutely shitty matchups

Well right now I just feel kind of lost in champ select especially for mid and top, whereas I have a couple picks for ADC/Jungle/Support I feel more comfortable on (even if I don't feel amazing on them)

pick someone you like and stick with it you ideally want to play about 2 or three champs regularly, and play other champs/roles when its necessary

junglers have some of the most bullshit ults to deal with - vi ult, panth ult, monkey ult

I think Nasus is the best champion to learn top with. No tricky mechanics, just power, and he heavily rewards players for realizing when they are the boss and when they are the bitch.
|
Ehhh, Nasus has an unique playstyle that's boring to me to be honest. Nasus is really weak in the beginning.
I think Nasus is kinda hit or miss.

4 BT, LW, SotD Malphite obv., maybe trade a BT for Hydra.

lets all just fling our opinions at each other about which champions we like or don't like theres no such thing as a best champion to learn top with because what top is is defined partially by what champion you pick top recommending champions in general i find inane, since its basically "I like playing this" which has nothing to do with the other person and what he likes, he should know that himself.
