Okay I'm giving in and joining Twitter. Seems like a fun way to stay in touch with people.
Couple questions though:
How do i send a message to someone? Are the messages I send shown on my profile? are they shown on theirs? If the person responds to my message, who can see the response? There is no such thing as a PM on Twitter right?
Any help I thank you in advance!

don't do it + Show Spoiler +there is a pm feature called direct message. You can also tweet @person'susername for something public
Dm messages are not shown publically. However, if you tweet @someone then those tweets can be viewed publically. I think they only show up in feeds of people that follow both of you, but if someone goes to your tweets they can see them
Same as above basically. DM responses are private and replies to public tweets @someone will be on feeds of those people that follow both of you, and public to everyone

Any help I thank you in advance! I don't use twitter much although I've had it for several years so I don't think it's as time draining as everyone says lol. Answers: - There is an envelope near the search bar. If you click it, you can see new message so you click that then you just write the person's twitter name or so and you can write the message and send it. - I don't believe messages are on the profile. I think they stay under the envelope(or messages) tab so to speak so that they stay private. If you are worried though, send a friend a short message just saying hi for ex and see if it displays on profile. - You are the only one who can see the message from your friend and respond to it unless you get your twitter hacked and someone else reads/responds to it XD - I don't think there's a pm on twitter. You mean like a messenger like facebook messenger, right?
You can also tweet to someone or just a general tweet which everyone can see depending on your friend's list and theirs. Hope that helps! #tweetaway!

lol at everyones respones I used to hate social media, and I still kind of hate idly staring at it and checking it. But for networking, communicating and supporting people/celebrities you like, it's a very powerful tool. Just don't get addicted and turn into a goldfish, it has a way of doing that to people.
1) Type @man88 at the beginning of your msg to tweet at "man88". If you don't type it at the beginning of your message it will be more of a "mention" tweet which all your followers will see, even if they don't follow "man88" 2) People who look directly at your profile will see your messages tweeted at man88, but otherwise they won't show up on their feed unless they follow both you and "man88". The messages won't be shown on their profile, though are easily viewable if someone looks at man88's responses to you. 3) ^ anyone that follows both of you 4) You can direct message people but only if you both follow each other
Your interactions tab will show all the tweets where someone tweets at you, or mentions you in their tweet. Your home-page or "twitter-feed" will show you all the public tweets of people you follow.
