CJ Entus progaming LoL team announced in a press release that Maknoon joined their organization.
Maknoon will join CJ Frost and at the same time his change to a midlaner was announced. Maknoon is a first generation Progamer therefore he has outstanding skill and witty interaction with fans and he has many fans in Korea and abroad which makes him a star player.
Maknoon: "I wanted to join CJ which was regarded as the no1 team for a long time because it happened I am very happy." and "A new enviroment and a new position is an interesting challenge so please look out for me."
CJ Entus coach 강현종 "After Maknoon left KT Arrows he tried out in our team. Now a days he is training with Frost. He played LoL since the old EDG, MIG days and the team atmossphere is good.
Meanwhile Maknoon joined CJ Frost and the rebuilding process for the next season is still ongoing. Soon the final rebuilding decision will be published in an official announcement.

So, after a once great rivalry, he comes to join the fallen giants.

feels like more of a pr move than anything, i don't see how he will upgrade upon gbm/rapidstar.

I think Maknoon is no longer a strong player. He has fallen behind the pack and switching positions will likely make things worse. I expect a lackluster season out of him. It's a shame that some of the bigger name teams will still take old stars instead of trying to grab an up and coming player with a lot more potential.

Not good for either side really...

He was supposed to come play for Murica

Frost is done for good ... Everyone loves Maknoon, but come on, this won't end well.
What happens to Rapidstar and Ganked By Mom?

Eh.
We'll see. It could work out great, but who knows. With Baeme and Ambition on the CJ roster, they already have the Korean all-star mid (currently in slump) and the best mid prospect in Korea. Whomever wins the Blaze mid starting position, the loser is probably a better option for Frost.

Oh Maknoon, please make it work this time...

Wow, so many Maknoon doubters. Gankedbymom and Rapidstar have small champion pools and weak laning phases, guess who doesn't. The pressure will be on the jungler who is hopefully mechanically skilled, unlike Cloudtemplar. And to Imperfect1987, you have no idea what you are talking about. This isn't NA with rehashed versions of teams and players who are no longer good, these are Koreans. They actually try players out in the team before picking them for their rosters. He obviously worked out well or they wouldn't have picked him.

Frost has been my favorite team since their MiG days with Shy and Madlife being my two favorite players. I just think that the entire identity of their team is being thrown out the window with everything that's going on with their team now They had an almost impossible to out team fight against composition and a huge part of that was due to how long they've been together. But now, CT retires, Rapidstar gets benched, and Woong got booted (though I never really liked him).
Now, we get Space who Madlife can adapt quickly with, Ganked By Mom who has the smallest champion pool of any pro player, and Helios who I actually really liked from their MLG days before Flame was brought in. I'm sure Space and Madlife will do fine since Madlife can play any style and they looked fine in Summer, GBM... I don't like because he meshed well with Cloudtemplar and now that he's gone... dunno. Helios will probably learn Frost's style pretty quickly since he was on their sister team.

Well that's one of the big differences between Korean and Western eSports I guess. They simply have to sacrifice a part of their personality in order to remain competitive, because winning just seems way more important over there, also for the fans. Even if you got the brightest personalities on your team, they won't get popular until they do well.
I think you might have confused this thread with the Korean LoL news one, since it was just bumped I suppose.

koreans are more deferential to teh organization while western players are individualistic in their mentality. maknoon and reapered are not very korean in this respect
