If you didn't know the world championships just finished then you probably don't know enough about the pro scene or game to make much comment.

I'm glad most people recognized that my intention for this blog was to note my disappointment in not being able to make a Starcraft connection with my students, rather than bash LoL Congrats to SKT for winning LoL by the way. + Show Spoiler + Yes, winning the entire game. Also, what's wrong with nested spoilers? I find them useful when trying to set up a cliffhanger or a turn of events, as my peripheral vision tends to spoil punchlines (especially when the later paragraphs include bold or italicized font). My students will be taking at least one more math course after this one. On October 09 2013 02:39 Seeker wrote: Fail them. They will never learn otherwise. Anyway, even though the majority of new SKT LoL fans have little knowledge of its long history of Starcraft domination, I've found many are interested in learning about it. The article TL wrote for the Champions Summer finals detailing the SKT vs KT rivalry was pretty popular on Reddit. I'm always happy to share information about SKT to anyone interested and spread the fandom :D don't be so hard on them, just be willing to tell them more about this awesome team~ SKT SUPREMACY

A similar thing to your situation happened to me late one night in dorms last semester actually (I just got an easy room in the dorms as a junior so I didn't have to apartment shop). Being in the dorms+being 4-5 years older than everyone else, I tended to stay out of everyone's way. Besides, my Code S, A, Proleague, and GSTL watching habits made it so I was rarely awake at the same times as anyone else. But then one day I was walking back to my room from the shower and one of my neighbors asked me what I was always playing all the time, quickly explaining that he could sometimes hear game sounds coming from my room (quickly adding that it didn't bother him or anything). I was mostly naked and had never talked to this guy before, so it was pretty damn awkward. But I answered him anyway: "Oh, haha, sorry. That'd be Starcraft." To which he replied: "OH! I thought it might of been League of Legends. My roommate and I play that all the time. Have you ever played it before? Isn't Starcraft like really old?" "..." Ya, it got more awkward. "No, I haven't played LoL before, not really my style. I play mostly Starcraft 2, which isn't old. But I do play Starcraft: Broodwar from time to time, which is definitely old. 15 years old actually. And still fun to play and watch." "Oh, ok. Cool. Maybe I'll look into it." "Please do, it's the greatest game ever. Seriously. You ever want to play hit me up. A bunch of us here at school play all the time." He never hit me up...
