But a few things in particular are just annoying and just painful at times.
Starcraft 2 Forum.
Yay, Blizzard has announced Starcraft 2, and this probably the best thing to have happened since the first Starcraft. Yet I noticed a lot of people seemed to have created accounts just to discuss this present from the gods (and by the gods, I mean Blizzard). But here's pretty much the only types of posts I see in that section.
- New content or information posted somewhere. Also posts noticing interesting details in posted stuff that other people may have missed. The only good threads.
- The whiners. "OMG SC2 is going to suck compared to BW. It's so slow. It looks cartoony. Unlimited selection OMG. It's going to be WC3. I'm not going to play SC2 at this rate." There are at least 20 of these posts in every single freaking thread detailing how they think SC2 is going to suck. These people also tend to have low post counts on average and need to all be shipped to Disneyland. It makes me want to rip out vocal cords and chop off fingers.
- The speculators. "So OMG with these units toss is going to be so overpowered. Just imagine their mothership/tempest/warp ray combo. IMBA OMG, how do you think terran and zerg can counter this, with reapers? lololol. And do you think they will have blah blah and blah blah in SC2?" How people can spew so much crap over less than 10 minutes total of gameplay footage is just completely beyond me. If you really want to know, get off your speculating butt and get a job at Blizzard.
- The anti-whiners/speculators. "SC2 is still in pre-alpha. Give Blizzard the benefit of the doubt." These people attempt to use things like common sense and reason and patience to deal with the previous two categories. The ability to deal with such flagrant stupidity is a virtue and I commend them. Although this does sometime cause a backlash and the whiners/speculators will somehow attempt to turn it into an argument or debate. I prefer to not waste any more time reading about what some 12-year-old kid who has nothing better to do than troll some internet forum thinks. kthx.
All I can do now is hesitantly hover my mouse over each thread and wonder if I should really risk clicking it and lose more brain cells.
Alas, I could just avoid it altogether, but like I said, there's actually content in there sometimes.
