I've said it before but I think the only character introduced thus far that I would classify as pretty much completely evil is Joffrey. Everyone else has their ups and downs in morality as far as I'm concerned, some clearly more oriented towards the bad side and some towards the good. When you say the bad guys have the plot armor, well...who's bad exactly(aside from Joffrey)?
While I agree with you, I will say there's more than just Joffrey that nearly noone is rooting for (not that they could be considered evil though): - Cersei [Lannister] - Lysa Tully - Freys - Greyjoys (?)
Based off the way she's portrayed in the show, I'd also add Melisandre personally, but I don't know how many others would be on board with this.

I had already been spoiled (audio book/shuffle incident) but i was still shell shocked for like 10 minutes at the end of the episode. Can't imagine what it would be like if i had no idea that it was coming.

Now people can understand why calling Naniwa the king in the north was especially hilarious once he did well for 2 GSL seasons and then bombed out of the third =D

You missed the point; Cersei used the fact that she was sleeping with his squire (who we learned was a Lannister he accepted to shut his in-laws up). His Squire poisoned him (in order to slow him down), at the order of Cersei, after she understood that if he gets back alive Ned will tell him about the incest thing... because Ned did the honorable thing and told her in order to give her time to run. She then had Ned branded a traitor so when he said that Joffrey was a bastard no one would believe him. Robert wouldn't have died otherwise, he went on those hunting trips all the time.

Martin said "bittersweet ending" is a strong possibility in his interview today, which does seem to be the general theme of the entire story thus far. Are people really going to be O.K. with this? I think there may still be viewers that are subconsciously believing/hoping for a "good" ending that they will likely never receive. Show nested quote +On June 03 2013 17:23 hiru wrote:
Tyrion, Arya, and Jamie are the best characters in the show. They could be dead and erased from the story at any moment. Would you care if they were? It seems as if people still don't "get" what Martin's trying to do here. He's blatantly stated that his objective is to be purposely unpredictable, shocking and dramatic. He doesn't care if you get attached to the characters and tune in for to see them every week. In fact, it must be more rewarding for him to know that a particular character is well-recieved, as then he can surprise the audience even more when he hacks their head off. Well, he sort of does that, except not because there's no way Arya is going to die until the end or ever.

Lord Tywin brings all the Starks to the yard, and he is like, listen to my bard, and he is like, listen to my bard, I'mma kill you, else I have to charge.

Poor Arya, so close.. Love her and the hound together though. Oh god, and that wasn't even the finale.
Well wolf killing scene was pretty symbolic and sad. Big 'wolves' of Stark clan are gone now. Future is looking pretty grim for their family.

Lannisters Tyrells Baratheon (Stannis has dat magic braw...and ships lots of ships) Targaryen (Dragons still too small, still no navy, skilled fighters but not well equipped) Greyjoy Tully
Wildlings (they're only here to illustrate the state of the Starks, lol)
Starks (;; since a few survive they still get to be on the list)

I'm relieved that this topic will never again suffer any attempts to be spoiled with the red wedding. Try reading a few pages back and see how some people were desperately trying to "guess it"

FINALLY some storylines that actually end. Especially this one which had stood completely still for 2 seasons. The combination of book reading friends going "this season finale is going to make your jaw drop sooooo bad!!!!" and the rehash of the "lord frey will take this as a slight" kind of spoiled me but was still kind of in shock as it played out. Good TV.

I think what happen to jeyne ruined the episode for me was to graphic and a bit to far I understand was a shock value + Show Spoiler + to stab someone in the stomach that's pregnant is just really not needed she could have simply had her throat cut

Oh god I love this show. WTF OMG~

I read the books, knew exactly what would happen, got hit in the stomach hard each time I re-read the Red Wedding and still shed a tear watching this. Catelyn's acting is superb, she looked 20 years older from once scene to the next
