i see them (pc, console) as apples and orange
i dont remember the last time i played a two player game on a computer using the 23 inch monitor, i mean, who would want to when there's a large screen tv and a console? i've spent countless hours with friends playing madden, fifa, and especially tekken (plus other fighting games) on console.
maybe i'm too old school as i've never used my pc+tv to play games nor hook up multiple controllers on a pc to play multilayer games.
seriously guys, whats easier: 4 computers, 4 monitors, 4 keyboard mouse to play 4 player fps or 1 console, 4 controller and 1 tv for 4 player fps
apples and oranges, they have different purposes.
Umm....iunno about you but for instance, me and my wife play games on the same PC with 2 monitors, separate audio, keyboards, and mice.....the only thing keeping me from doing 4 players is just another graphics card and more ram....and i might be 1 usb short but nothing a hub couldn't fix. And besides depending on the game split screen can actually hurt your gaming experience because the damn thing is so small and you can see everyone else's screen leading to even unintentional screen cheating.
Granted buying all the hardware involved to make a decent experience for 4 people playing modern shooters like BF3 would take a minor chunk o change, but the gaming experience itself is way better, with better graphics, support, and community. Why do you think PC gamers rage when you take away the option for dedicated servers?
And both serve entirely the same purpose, letting you have fun. The only thing that separates the experience is cash and technical know how. That said I don't think the next XBOX or PS4 will do much for games or anything in general because the golden age of video games has been over for quite some time. It'll just give youngsters a voice to be racist and rude to random people on the internet like chat roulette lol.

Who would want to play their PC on their 23 inch monitor when they can just use their HD 42" TV instead?
Im spoilt when it comes to gaming time.

Im spoilt when it comes to gaming time. I like sitting at a desk with my 27" a few feet away. 42" is too big to sit at a desk with.

Nothing stops you from connecting your PC to both.

You can always connect your PC to the TV. Valve came out with a feature called "Big Picture".

I hope the controller is good. That is what made me buy the Xbox 360 instead of the PS3

New generation of console ports for PC yay!

The main reason I own an Xbox360 is for the Gears of War series, which, in my opinion, is one of the best shooter franchises ever. Nothing gets close to that series in terms of production value. Gears of War 3 even looks spectacularly good for a console game. I'm not really in the market for a new console nowadays, but I'm curious what Microsoft can bring to the table!
On the controversial issue of always-online: my xbox is always online when it's on, as is every PC in the household. I really won't notice the difference.

As far as I know, AMD got the xbox contract too.

Your connection isn't the issue, it's theirs.

Hmm; wondering how it compares to PS4. So far the hardware specs of the ps4 is fucking ridiculously impressive.

Really? I love the controller. I like having the keypad on it to add even more weight. PS3 controller is too light for my taste and their keypad goes on top which pulls the controller out of my hands rather than in to them. I think it's mostly personal preference in any case.

I think that he uses the Xbox controller on a PC .
I should probably buy some wireless-adapter. Have 3 wireless controllers but no wired ^^

Your connection isn't the issue, it's theirs. Your connection is much more likely to go out than theirs. Even in the worst cases of "we didn't expect the huge demand on our infrastructure," that has usually been a 2-3 day thing. After that, servers may go down for a collective 8 hours every month.
