Heres some graphics im working on in chills card game. Looking for any feedback on the art/setup of cards etc.
Heres a step by step recap of the construction of the hero card layout First mockup layout was done in about 10 minutes (necromancer art is old in this) + Show Spoiler + 2nd copy started adding details and messing with textures. + Show Spoiler + 3rd copy moved icons around for aesthetic reasons more refined layout. + Show Spoiler + 4th copy tried to make it look less "magic card like" + Show Spoiler + current hero card layout as of now. + Show Spoiler +

You're unstoppable. I still have contrast concerns. Careful with red text.
|
Make the text box grey or something, less is more when it has to be read. Cards looking sweet though, I like your work.
|
Use dice faces instead of numbers, or would it get too ugly? As a player I would rather have the image of the dice than having to search for the number in the text.
I would also prefer justified text, or at least aligned to the left.
Other than that, they look so good man, great work!

is this better or worse?

Looking good. I feel like maybe you can tone down the saturation of the borders though, so it isn't so eye popping-ly red, which makes it a bit hard to look at.

Ahh, I like it so much better!
But I still think its better to have dice faces instead of numbers, something like this:

when you convert to cmyk color mode for print I think it reduces the saturation of colors a bit.

I think using moderate toned colors for card borders is something that Yugioh did really well, I'm a big fan of it, though I think you could use the same border idea to differentiate cards like they did. You don't have to fully copy it, but giving the cards some form of linearity as far as color is concerned may be good. Just a humbe idea Coag .

The second style is much better. These look awesome in general!
One comment, being very nitpicky: I feel like the dots on the '6' die should be vertically oriented. Also, and I'm assuming you're thinking the same thing, flavor text should also be in a 'text box' for easier reading.
Keep up the great work.

When you say deck, is that a community draw pile or an individual's deck, like in MtG?
The last card format is best by far. But you should have the text fill the whole width (unless the text formatting was a special choice here). Otherwise I can imagine a card with a lot of text that won't fit.
