Instead of consolidating all the "high" level players in one spot, fighting over a relative handful of opportunities (both for Koreans and traveled foreigners), its now spread out over 3 regions. More opportunities for foreign players to compete in a meaningful tournament without having to spend 2 years in Korean team house to earn the privilege of attending a qualifer, while Korean pros who have already busted their ass have the option to participate in a major tournament with fewer of them getting drowned out quietly in unknown qualifier matches or "stepping on each others feet". They shouldn't hand the biggest award in SC2 to anybody for just happening to live in a certain place, but this expands the the amount of potential participants. More exposure, more reason to get better, and better competition. first couple years will probably be more or less Korean domination, but this is far more inclusive and would encourage more foreigners to push harder then saying "go to korea or suck" I agree with this sentiment. I'm not totally convinced but it's worth the shot and I think it might work.

We're going through a revival of SC2 after the last 8-10 months of crappy games. But lets go back to what it was. Can't help but notice that Root is choosing to let one of the Korean players play on NA.

I'm sorry but I'm having a real hard time sympathizing with all this entitlement coming out of the foreign scene right now. There will always be international tournaments with tons of top koreans stomping foreigners, but many wanted WCS to be the starcraft olympics. National champions being sent to the world final etc. Would you not enjoy that? Some regional competission leading up to a world final on top of all the international stuff?

They'd come out a team that just got shit on by a bunch of better players. It's not like they're going to practice against them. They're just going to get shit on and become demoralized. Yes and no. Different people learn differently. Some players like Naniwa learn from being thrown into the deep end and improve by wanting to better the people who constantly overshadow you. However there are also players who need to be spoon fed. But one thing all players can mutually agree on is proper management and coaching. Now this is what foreign teams lack and absolutely needs. Refer to the Coach Park effect for reference.

Foreigners coming to GSL have always mentioned that due to months long nature of GSL, they have to play at a disadvantage due to culture shock, lack of training infrastructure, lack of team, jetlag, etc Now the Koreans will have these disadvantages( plus latency for online stages of the tournaments). If despite these advantages the Koreans still dominate all, then they deserve it. Definitely.

I don't understand this, WCS Europe for example was to measure the best european player, and worked pretty well at that. Now next season best european player will be X korean and you will be with your head wondering what the fuck just happened.

Maybe the EU/US teams will realize that the best option may not be to let all their Korean players cannibalize the US scene.

If KR cannot be BEST in beating their own country men BEST then don't deserved to be BEST. Now, since MANY of our BEST moving to EU/NA.. let's see if YOUR best can beat our BEST if not don't QQQQQQQ!@_@ We can't beat your "best" because NA or EU don't have the same infrastructure to compete against your "best." I only put the quotation marks because none of your "best" like Flash, Innovation, Soo, Fantasy, etc. are playing in NA, its a bunch of B team Kespa players, Slayers rejects, and EG-TL (currently in last place in Proleague) wanting to play in other regions. So lets be honest, you're not sending your "best." But your B team is still better and its not creating a healthy e-sports environment in North America and the EU.
