Korean news site ThisIsGame has been tracking down the decisions Korean players have made regarding their region decisions.

Players currently in Code A who have switched regions will forfeit their Code A spots. Replacements will be picked through qualifiers.

Players like HyuN, MC, and TaeJa* who are/were qualified for this season of Code S will be able to play the qualifiers for Season 1 of NA/EU, but will only be able to advance as far as the Challenger League. (ie. they will be able to secure qualification for the season 2 premier league of NA/EU, but won't be able to play in the season 1 premier league of NA/EU). [Players don't have to forfeit their Code S spots to do this.]

Axiom owner Genna Bain posted on Reddit about the lack of information and overall confusion surrounding the situation, and how it made making a decision difficult.
Just wanting to clear something up about our player's names appearing on this list. I had previously said that our team would remain KR. That was back when it appeared that we would be given the option to change if we wanted after WCS KR Season 1. That option has been rumored to have been removed from the table. Please take into consideration that we had no direct communication from Blizzard about any of this information at any point in time. When asking around, I received similar reports from other team owners.
So without speaking to the team owners or the players, Blizzard implemented it's vision for this new WCS format and players have been given an unreasonably short period of time in order to declare their choice of region with little to no information being provided.... [the rest omitted]

*Liquid`Nazgul says TaeJa was told he had to make his decision immediately, not at the end of Season 1 as it had been announced before.

I don't understand why MC, HyuN and TaeJa choose to move to NA or EU : they are ALREADY on code S (even though MC, lost yesterday and will have to come back).

Does that mean that HyuN or TaeJa will forfeit code S if they won their groups ?

Speaking only for ourselves TaeJa received a message that he had to pick his league for season two now already. TaeJa was always supposed to play Code S and then decide near the end of the first season, but this sudden change in policy forced him to pick early. I've been trying to figure out how this could happen because it contradicts the Blizzard Q&A on reddit, and many other sources that said they would be able to switch after season one. TaeJa is not playing NA this season, but I imagine being on this list has got something to do with his choice for season two.

I don't think all 20 of the Koreans moving to NA will get invites. I'm sure most of them will have to qualify through the special qualifiers and/or go through the challenger league before overtaking the North American invites by season two. I'm sure Polt, Violet, Jaedong, Nestea, etc. will get invited, but guys like Center will probably have to just win the qualifier.

8 Koreans are invited to NA Premier division

That's not 100 % true, but I see where you're coming from. 16 of the 24 invites are going to North Americans, the remaining 8 invitations are going to people who are not North American. That could be both Europeans and Koreans. The last 8 spots are coming from online qualifiers. That's your 32 for this season.

Oh, Blizzard. There is nothing good about this at all. GSL is worse, the "NA" championship will be a joke, and WCS EU now has the allure of an average weekend tournament.

I don't mind, I prefer this to all-NA or EU tournaments, haha. And the WCS finals will be with more Koreans.

I am pretty disappointed that this is what blizzard forced the teams to do. GSL just got a lot less impressive.

You play all the early rounds online. The later live rounds take place over a weekend. They dont have to leave KR if they dont want to
