It's not that old ! Probably 2 or 3 months ago. But I find it hilarious how those temples are more and more broken. But it will be difficult to break more Tower of the Gods & Wind Temple considering the layout of those dungeons.

Wind Temple is already broken as fuck. Well maybe not on the level of the earth temple but still pretty hardcore.

Although I imagine he gets more viewers during no-ads-week, right? :D Even so, glad to see anyone in a video-game-related-field making money! He really doesn't need to run ads, hes getting alot of money from donations... he got 2k+ during/after that run.
Oh yeah, for sure. In the last 45 minutes of the run, and the 20 minutes after, alone (the time I watched, basically), he got over $2k lol. I was just saying it'd be even better for him if he had been running ads, I'd think. :D

Yeah it's pretty insane how much he received. I like Cosmo and I'm happy he can earn money through his gaming, but I almost felt bad at the end. Do people really have too much money or do they not know about AGDQ starting in two days despite massive AGDQ spam in the chat ? There has been several $50 and even $100+ donations ...
|
having 19k people watching his stream did more for speedrunning and AGDQ than those few lost dollars that won't be able to be donated during the event.
|
Yeah it's true I guess. Previous highest viewcount was around 15k when Sig was running SM64 every day during the summer. Even AGDQ 2012 had peaked at only around 12k.

My buddy is getting into speedrunning OoT and the question came up of how to acquire a Japanese version of the game. He said he'd prefer to download it from VC, but can you download JP VC games onto a NA Wii? Or is he going to have to get a JP Wii or N64 copy?
|
You can change the language on your Wii, but I think it's technically breaking the ToS/EULA. So umm... google it since we can't actually advocate he do those things. All I can say is that Cosmo has a NA Wii and can play japanese OoT on it.
edit: He's going to want to learn on the English version first anyway. You only switch to Japanese when you have it down super well and want to compete for records.

Wait did his run peak at 19k? Does anyone have a video of the end of the run with chat spam included? I've seen a few for sig's stream in the past I know.

Caracarnvi just wiped on Necron in ffix (a few minutes behind WR pace so don't think he cared too much), and is about to do another attempt... props to him for doing back to back 9 hour speedruns, I wouldn't even be able to finish one

Did he have the tower or not?
As a ff9 speedrunner it is probably the one thing none of us agree on and if he wiped without it we could stop the arguments.
Edit:
He didn't do protect strats with the orichalcun... Well that is one way to die I guess.
Lets wish him luck with the TR run

any restreams for AGDQ that are less laggy?

Hah, the jab at sc2 made me happy, LoL is gonna be next
(everybody at the stream laughed when they mentioned it had more vieweres than sc2)

Shoutouts to whoever that was that just donated to say "hello from the broodwar community"
Almost $1300 donated to make Steiner's name in FF9 Violet.
Keep it up guys :>

Can someone post the stream schedule? Their site seems to be overloaded. Kind of interested to see what they're playing.

Great to see those 2 guys.

Yoshi's Island is the most impressive SNES speedrun, hands down.
