If I wanted to introduce someone to Pokemon, should I pick Heart Gold / Soul Silver or Black and White 2? I played Platinum before (and it's the only game I've played, I was never into hand helds before). (I'd introduce them to Platinum but HG/SS seems like a better choice. Though Pokemon Platinum has the epic team galactic boss battle music though...) Heart Gold and Soul Silver has the epic adventure to become the next Zerg Bonjwa of Johto + Kanto regions (16 gym leaders and battle against Red at the end) while BW2 has the new area which allows you to battle nearly every gym leader from all the previous Pokemon games (which also allows you to face Red too). BW2 is more recent and has more features but Gold / Silver has Johto and Kanto for that double nostalgia and double beginnings of Pokemon bonus. So Black and White 2 vs Heart Gold / Soul Silver, which is better if I wanted to introduce someone to Pokemon? I'm sort of leaning on BW2 since it's more recent (and last I checked, HG and SS are actually not that much cheaper than BW2). | ||

If you're really looking for nostalgia, FR/LG I haven't played B+W2, so I can't answer which is better, but anything ruby sapp onwards should be fine. D/P suffers from the bad over world but has amazing mechanics HG/SS is pretty much perfect B/W while nice is very restrictive on the gym leader order compared to the last 4 generations and has a limit range of pokemon you can obtain B/W2 is almost perfect but the main story is better if they played B/W first and it forces you to do a lot of gimmick battles which can put people off. | ||
