From what I can tell it's a level II or III based on what I've read online, simply because it's a constant pain. As an athlete, and furthermore an active BW player, leader, and organizer, I understand that I'll now be doing a lot less physical activity. With finals coming up and football season coming to an end, my school life is just about done for around a month. This injury will however provide a forced support for my finals' studying. Due to my lack of mobility, I won't be partying. I'll only start going back to the gym once I can walk comfortably (to only work out my upper body). That won't be for a while given that the back and forth trip to the gym and my apartment consists of 12 flights of stairs and approximately 1/4 mile of walking.
To say the least, most of the life I've known for the past 3 and 1/2 months is just about over. If anyone who reads this blog that's in the medical field wants to give their opinion, or experiences regarding groin pulls, I highly encourage it.
+ Show Spoiler [How It Happened] +
Well, basically, this is my weightlifting routine for the week:
Monday: chest/arms
Tuesday: triceps
Wednesday: legs
Thursday: back/arms
Friday or Saturday (based on the amount of sleep/recovery I get Thursday night): biceps
So, two days ago Wednesday they finally fixed the adductor machine that I used to regularly use before it was out of order for a little less than a month. In fact, because of that machine missing in my regiment, I would skip decline leg press and extensions every other workout and just go play basketball. I'm pretty sure that was my downfall for this injury.
My leg workout follows:
1) Obviously stretch
2) 3 - 30 rep sets of 300 lbs on a hip abductor machine
3) 3 - 30 rep sets of 300 lbs on a hip adductor machine
4) 3 - 12 rep sets of 360 lbs on a calf extension machine
5) 3 - 10 rep sets of 730 or 820 lbs on decline leg press
6) 3 - 12 rep sets of 240 lbs on a leg extension/curl machine
7) 3 - 10 rep sets of 360 lbs on a calf extension machine
8) dance around and throw combinations at a heavy bag
9) cry a little bit on the inside because of my quads meeting endless stairs
Finally, how it happened: After 4 leg workouts where I skipped 3, 5, 6, and 7 for two of the workouts to go play basketball when I finished, I felt I was up for a full workout. My ego told me about when I decline leg pressed 1180 3 times in high school, so it's all good, I can do anything. However, this time I skipped steps 8 and 9. When I finished my third set of decline leg press (730 this time), my quads were frozen. Absolutely, positively frozen. I had to lean up against the wall next to the machine and squat to stretch them out for a couple of minutes. I figured it was just because of my inactivity. However, I misinterpreted that stiffness, it was actually my adductor muscles that were frozen up. I didn't know the signs either. I began to walk funny in a stiff, retarded looking way, and believed it was because of my quads. The next day I went and did a back workout while my 2 other roommates went to play basketball. While doing rows + Show Spoiler +
After hitting the heavy bag a little bit following my workout and stretching, I went and played 2 games of basketball with my roommates. We lost 13-12 and 13-11 (just another disappointing note to this injury). During the final play of the last game I played (tied 12-12), their best player was driving on me and I thought he'd go to my weak side for the layup, which he didn't. Unfortunately, I was prepared to go that way, and bent my body trying to block his shot (8 inches taller than him). My arm got caught on his collarbone/neck area and twisted my body a little bit more. I went and sat down while one of my roommates played another game. That's when my leg really, really started to feel like shit. I assumed it was soreness from the previous day's leg workout.
Long story short: I woke up the next day (today) with extreme tightness and pain in my upper left inner thigh region, with a lesser pain in my upper right thigh region. In the middle of my afternoon class I finally pinpointed what muscle it was, the adductor brevis (at that time I only knew it was the upper adductor). So, I walked from class to the bus a little bent over because it was more painful to walk straight on it. I've been doing that since.

, my upper leg was a little bit stiff still. Thus, I went and stretched.

Well, now that I've pretty much got nothing to look forward to for at least the next month (conservative, hopeful calculation), I realize I'll use most of my spare time sitting in my uncomfortable apartment computer chair doing BW related stuff. That is mainly because Whiplash and Spades peer pressured me into downloading SC2, which I did. But I hate the game, so I'm going to delete it. The result in my eyes will be that I'll be streaming a lot more, and looking into sincere efforts of getting ISL4 launched. Other than that, you guys will see more BW stuff from me all because of this god awful, super uncomfortable injury.
I now realize this is a long blog for tl;dr: FML, hi again BW.
