As you probably know, the beta for Heart of the Swarm was just released. Not being fortunate enough to snag beta access, I wandered over to a stream. Watching Torte de Lini stream, it didn’t take long before I fell unconscious from how big of a baller TDL must be to play a HotS ZvZ and go for pure roach without even considering making a new unit.
While I was unconscious, I had a dream. No, not a dream, a vision. My spiritual mentor and fellow TL user Dalguno taught me about visions and helps me interpret them. Here, I saw a few years into the future and was looking at beta footage, not of HotS but of Legacy of the Void. And I wasn’t just watching, I was playing (in the first beta wave, of course).
I noticed one small and subtle UI change, barely visible at first, but I knew it was going to be of paramount importance. I recreated the screen in MS Paint so you could see this wonderful new feature as I saw it. I feel reasonably confident it will come to fruition because drunken visions are completely infallible and also because it’s completely in line with Sc2’s trajectory. Without further adieu, here it is:
+ Show Spoiler +Please forgive the lack of artistic talent, but it should give you the idea.
With one click, you could avoid the difficulty of doing things entirely and just allow the game to do all the things. Just think of the possibilities! As more and more people have personal devices like tablets and smartphones, Sc2 will be super accessible almost anywhere! You could even play it on regular ol’ iPod nanos, on calculators, and even some thermometers.
This may sound weird so close after the release of HotS beta, but I for one cannot wait for LotV!!!

I bet the FPS on a thermometer must be abysmal. I suppose it wouldn't affect your gameplay, but still...

weird. I also had a similar i̶n̶e̶b̶r̶i̶a̶t̶e̶d̶ vision. Well at least I'll be able to play starcraft on my wristwatch.

This describes me perfectly!

lol, 5/5, I was thinking the same thing, By the time LotV hits, SC2 will be fully automated / voice activated strategy, can u imagine watching someone talk the whole time on stream just giving SC2 commands and it automatically doing it? :D
That is the direction we are heading anyways...They keep making the game easier lol. T_T
5/5 blog post~

I'll be able to get GM without actually buying SC2: LotV! :D

Close but not quite. From what I understand, based off my expertise in extrapolating, Blizzard will soon implement a (default) feature that will not only play the game for you, but do it at infinite speed where game auto decides the winner based on the players' MMR and statistics. Why let everything be done for you when you can let everything be done for you instantly.

Hahaha this is exactly what I am thinking from this, it just seems silly that they are now even making workers automine at the start of games. I personally love splitting workers and feel like they should at least make the autosplitting very inefficient so good players can take advantage of better micro at the very start (yeah yeah I know splitting workers has next to no real advantage, but it is still pretty neat).

Workers automine automatically? I don't... That's stupid.
