It was a quiet day in Liquidia, and the town was gently rising over the horizon. A ray of sunshine shone through Qatol's window, and landed gently on his face. Qatol began to stir. He let out a yawn, and rolled over in his bed, landing on something he wasn't quite expecting. Qatol's dog barked at him. "Risen, get out of my bed." Qatol growled, pushing Risen onto the floor. Risen scampered off into the hall, and immediately starting barking. Qatol followed him out, and found ghost_403's cold, lifeless body. Qatol began to panic. He ran out the door trying to find help. Marvellosity stayed calm. You can't afford to panic while lining up your shot from the rooftop of a house down the street. ghost_403 the Ghast was found dead! Again! Qatol the guy who always rolls VT was shot through the heart! Risen the puppy ran off into the distance! Marvellosity the Hired Hitman disappeared into the shadows! Day 1 has begun! You have 49 hours to identify which of you was responsible. Deadline is at 21:00 GMT (+00:00). This post went up an hour early. Good luck and have fun!

If we have a town roleblocker, I think its best not to use your role early. You generally have as much chance of hurting a teamate as you do a scum. I'm not saying to NEVER use it, but think carefully and only use it if you are reasonably sure that you are blocking a scum. Some policy discussion: Lynch All Liars - I'm of the opinion that there are very, very few cases where lying as a townie is beneficial to town. With that said, there ARE cases where it is a realistic option, so I think blanket policy lynching is a fairly bad thing. Case-by-case basis. Lynch All Lurkers - As much as lurking hurts town, I feel like at least in newbie games, lurking is almost guaranteed. I encourage everyone to try as hard as they can to avoid lurking sot hat we won't have to discuss this later. Lurking as a townie hurts town. Please don't do it. Again, case-by-case basis. Are all roleblocks notified, or only people with power roles? I've seen games where it works both ways, so best to clarify early.

I have, much to my delight, rolled town for the first time in a normal mini. I hope to be able to prove to you that I am as innocent as most of you and much more innocent than our scum friends lead by Marv who, shockingly, rolled scum for the millionth time. On policy: I don't like policy lynches. I feel that town can do better than that and we should lynch scum not liars or lurkers. It is always possible to build cases and to try to lynch scum instead of basing our attacks on a black and white policy. Keir is right about the town RB though, you should hold your power until d2 at least since blocking a blue role can throw us off immensely. Do not RB until you are sure that someone is scum! If you have a perfect read d1 go ahead but I doubt you do. Also Keir: I promise to spell your name right this time. aRyuujin: since you are here would you be kind enough to bless us with one of your Haiku to start some discussion, no need to be silent just because you feel there is nothing to talk about.

And since it has come up, let's not get too caught up on blue roles. Remember, the most important players in this game And last but not least, since I have already contributed a set of haiku, I feel like a limerick will do: There once was a doggie named Risen Whose owner was never in prison >Shot once in the head >Now sadly, is dead And the perp has now somehow gone missin'

We must actually find scum. It should be possible (50/50) for a town to win with no blue roles and I hope we can prove that this game. If you are a blue and are scared of being shot don't be: play the game like a VT, that is your best option for survival and our best option for winning. when you claim make sure it is for a good reason that will help town and make sure that you have breadcrumbs of your role/actions to show us as well. So everyone knows I have work in a few hours (9pm) but when I come back I'm going to stay up to watch some GSL so I'll be around in another 12 hours or so.

1: Don't roleclaim D1. Don't. Aside from any potential masons, there are no roles (including those of mafia) that can be activated during the day, so there is no way to get proof that you are the blue (or green!) role you say you are. If you're townie and you claim before absolutely necessary, you're just giving the scum the only information they didn't begin the game with. Claiming is a fairly difficult subject, but in no way that I can think of is claiming D1/N1 beneficial to town. Don't do it. If you want to see what happens, read NMM 12. Dont. Do. it. 2: Don't discuss policy. At least don't come to an absolute consensus. Speak in vague but absolute sounding terms about encouraging activity. Easiest way for scum to win is to have town all say "Yeah, Lurkers are a bad target, we'll always lynch our best read". Its a pretty common scum strategy to lurk while the active townies FOS all over each other, and eventually kill themselves. 3: Get help from coaches and guides. Ver didn't write 2,341,839 pages on TLM XXX for his doctoral dissertation, its a useful document to learn from. The coaches didn't /coach to get special status in the OBS QT. With that, I'm going to vote right now. One player has already been confirmed as scum, and for that he must die. ##Vote:. Marvellosity I love you man, but you killed the host. And his name was in blue.

About the bolded part, I think that early on in a game, there really isn't that much to go on in order to choose who to vote for. I also think that which an inactive player isn't necessarily scum, they aren't very helpful to town. Same goes for liars. That's my two cents.

Day 1 is like any other day, we don't have all the information we want to have but we should use what information we do have to lynch a guy who looks scummy. Not a guy who looks like bad town. Marv said it best in the QT for I can't believe its not themed mini mafia: "best town play is to lynch scum" post 101 if you are curious. It was in reply to something dumb I said. While I'm not saying we will hit scum without fail we should try to. We can eliminate shitty players later with Vigi shots or scum will shoot them. A lurky scum team will have no ability to control where we look, if me and my boys had lurked in XIX we would have been crushed in LYLO but because 2/3 of us were active we managed a perfect victory despite Keirathi replacing in and figuring out all three of us at just the wrong time. aR: you make me happy with your Haiku Obvious: your limerick is excellent as well
