Going to MD for July 4th, any recommendations?

kakaman United States1576 Posts June 23 2012 16:58 GMT #1 I'm going to Maryland with my holiday for July 4th weekend to get some sun, watch some waves. We are going to hit up Ocean City and Annapolis. Any suggestions where to go, what to eat? I heard crabs are a specialty in Maryland. Also, sailing is famous in Annapolis? Anywhere else we should go to when around the area? Thanks!

Edit: I felt bad for just posting that, without being on topic at all. I'm sorry. On a more serious note: I don't know anything about Maryland.. so all i can do is to wish you happy holidays Have a nice vacation!

ZombieGrub United States687 Posts June 23 2012 17:22 GMT #3 I can't tell you much about Maryland, but I can tell you to visit Billy's on the beach in Ocean City. It's what my family makes sure to go to every time we visit Ocean City. Also, the boardwalk. Ride the zipper, because it is soooo fun. And yes, crabs are huge in MD, and OC, and there are deals everrryywheere in this season for crabs. Just ride down the main drag and you'll see tons of good deals from restaurants. :D

esReveR United States566 Posts June 23 2012 17:35 GMT #5 Anywhere on the southern half of OC with all you can eat steamed crabs is the place to go! Old Bay is so amazing As for specific places (not crabs)... maybe check out the Green Turtle. It's a pretty popular spot.

klibrt United States533 Posts June 23 2012 17:36 GMT #6 I've lived in Maryland all my life and I'm sorry to say I have nothing to recommend. xD And yes, Maryland blue crabs are supposedly really good. I don't know Annapolis very well, but I hope you have fun!
