You will be PISSED at yourself in 10-30 years if you don't take good care of your teeth now. We are blessed by the ability to take good care of our teeth (something our ancestors up until a few decades ago didn't share). TAKE ADVANTAGE. This. I suffered from depression basically all my life, so i didn't care about anything that would come later... which included not caring about brushing my teeth. They were perfectly fine until 21... then the first tooth chipped, funnily exactly around the time where i for a short time actually found a reason to live and started to brush my teeth again but at that point it was already too late. Now, another 10 years later, my dentist calls my teeth a disaster area and my smile would make homeless people flee in terror... Don't skimp on that, you will regret it later... Teeth don't grow back (unless you happen to be a shark).

Add a decade. So, after getting two wisdom teeth pulled (one might have crumbled, I dunno, I got myself knocked out for it), about 6 fillings, and prep work for a crown (the tooth was basically hollow) and teeth cleanings that required they numb the entire gumline (getting shots between your teeth into the gumline - I don't recommend it) I tend to take it a little more seriously. I still have all the teeth that matter where they need to be, and my gums aren't bleeding anymore. I can STILL do better, but that's building up a habit and sticking to it. I've had more work done on my teeth in the past 5 years than most people get in 15, and I still need a few things done. (It helps to have insurance, which is why it took over a decade to get anything done although things got noticably bad sooner. As in "while eating popcorn at the movies once, one of my molars cracked and the entire top fell off." It hurt like hell. That's the one that is waiting for a crown.)

On a more related note, scraping plaque off with your nails is just disgusting. Using a toothbrush is literally the same manner.

Also, there is one person I know that doesn't brush his teeth either and he's a disgusting fat bastard that hasn't gotten laid in like four fucking years. Do you wanna be like him? I thought so. So grow the fuck up and brush your damn teeth. Alright, man. I'll brush my teeth. Also, I'm asian so I can live on water and rice. I'm vegetarian too. I drink protein powder+ water after I work out.
