It seems unfair to the players in Code A/B that all a seeded player has to do is advance in ro32 to perpetually stay in after a free spot. I've said it before but I feel the purity of the competition is tarnished with invites. Of course GOM doesnt care about fairness since a player like naniwa/idra will draw them way more viewers.

If you're good enough to stay, you stay. If you're not, you get knocked out. It all balances out.

Except of course you have to make Round of 8 to keep your Code S ranking not just 'advance in ro32'. He had to work hard to stay in Code S.

You are aware Nani got seeded because he made the round of 8, right? And if you are than I'm not even sure why this came up here and now given that nobody has been seeded into Code S more than once so far.

I think Stephano had the advantage to be very consistent, never failing a game too much, but now it may not even be the case. I saw his game against Sase at MLG, his play was not flawless at all. Now it happens to everyone, even to the best, and Sase played well (but not perfectly neither), but as consistency was one of Stephano's strong points (especially in ZvP) I was a bit disapointed. However Nani is not better than Stephano neither, they're pretty much on the same level (as it seems that Naniwa has really improved). I would say this is almost the middle code S class (RO16 to RO8). I do not think it's the case for Thorzain, and we need confirmation from Sase.

He qualified for this season's code S because he made last season's code S RO8.

Please don't generalise about Stephano fans, I don't generalise about Canadians. Also people have been bashing Stephano since Day 1 and they still do, no matter his achievements. Blaming that on his fans is somewhat innaccurate. You might as well say Naniwa is hated because of his fans. Makes no sense. Some people just have an idea about a player and despite increasing evidence that shows this idea was innaccurate they still stubbornly ignore reality to cling to their original notion. So people who don't rate Naniwa or Stephano will still use any slim and weak argument to bash these players. In reality they are both excellent and deserve credit for their achievements. Haters are stubborn though.
