Points to watch
1. WCG Hangover: After going all the way to Italy to go BEYOND THE GAAAME, Midas returns to a very, very busy week in the progaming scene. Midas failed to impress in Monza, losing five games despite finishing third. He has a Bo3 scheduled on Tuesday followed by a killer TvT Bo3 showdown with Iris over three days. Can he keep his top condition despite the jetlag and fatigue? Or did he stretch himself too thin? It's time to find out what our cute little baby bear is really made of.
Also, congrats to Draco and Lx for being more awesome than anyone expected, and to July and iloveoov for being just as awesome as everyone thought they would be. See ya'll in Seattle.
2. OSL : One more round, four more eliminated. This OSL is gaining momentum with each new stage of the tournament. No matchup is more exciting than Anytime vs GoRush in the Round of 8. Anytime has been on fire this tournament, defeating Casy, July, and GGPlay as he silenced all those who dismissed him as a one hit wonder. But he now runs into GoRush, whose ZvP is so strong that he was once called "a walking Mercury" (the map, not the metal). Anytime would seem to be in better form than GoRush, but he would be wise to not underestimate the seasoned veteran. Once again, the Reaper Toss will have to play perfect PvZ - against the "Magician of Management" - to advance to the next stage.
3. MSL : It's CYON MSL all over again baby! Ok, so ZvZ is not the matchup that draws the largest crowd. But even the wierdest fetish has its fans (porn with eels, IntoTheWow). So if you appreciate the fast-paced, split-second decision making of ZvZ than this is for you. If you enjoy studying the careful and complicated economy of larvae, drones, and units, than this is for you. A ZvZ Bo5, over four maps. Enjoy.
4. Proleague: So we're starting to get an early picture of the playoffs. Lecaf only needs to win half of its remaining games to make the playoffs for the first time. Meanwhile, Pantech and KTF are probably rebuilding, looking forwards to next season. The rest are on the bubble.
The big matchups this week are both on Sunday, as CJ takes on Hanbit and Lecaf tries to stay unbeaten as they face Samsung Khan.
PS: Keep an eye out for old-school ownage from Junwi!
