I'm a big Naniwa fan, but the GSL is about winning to show you're the best player in terms of preparation and execution, and although a bo5 is small in the grand scheme of things, MVP deserved it.

They won't be good that fast. Because nobody is perfect. The best players in SC2 of each race still make stupid mistakes and decisions. MKP is one of the best terrans but it was only a couple months ago that he would lose game after game by forgetting his depots down and shit like that. You might think Naniwa is an awesome player but his defense in game 4 was pathetic. Genius plays amazing sometimes and then just falls apart other times. Brood War has been around for over 12 years now. Did you follow it at all? Do you realize that the difference in skill level from now and 2000 is enormous? B teamers from 2010 would be bonjwas in 2001. It takes time for people to get the experience and for matchups to be so figured out that practice becomes a science instead of an art, like it is now. You are probably severely underestimating the players they are losing to, also.

Atleast it might shut up the standard tl terrans. Quoting this post to use in the elephant thread when your post's predictive powers fail!

MVP was 2-1 had he failed the cheese in game 4 there is still a final game (in which nani would not dare to be so greedy) its a good strat considering he doesnt have much stamina.

I'm sure you took all the accomplishments of Mvp into account. On May 02 2012 11:59 m3rciless wrote: NaNi takes this 3-1, maybe 3-0 if the first two sets go his way and MVP checks out mentally. Its funny because I want NaNi to win so badly, and I literally don't care at all who wins the other match, except that I want the worse PvPer to win to give NaNi an easier road.

when you are a programmer, every game you play is affected by every match you have played previously, people study you, and if you have proven yourself to be a predictable, people will punish you, like leenock did if no one is allowed to cheese, why bother forge fast expand, just double expand to three bases on nothing lol

ah I'm sorry nani doesn't deserve to be number 1 quite yet seems undeserving IMO if his pvt was really his best match up he would look out for cheese seriously we have all been all in-ed by a terran >_<

I've also started noticing that almost all the people calling MVP a cheesy newb are all Swedish. What a coincidence lol. This series just brings to mind MMA vs MVP in the blizzard cup, where MMA pulled consecutive cheeses in the last two games for the 3-0. People loved MMA for that, where's the MVP love?

Parting is going to pick apart MVP in next round. I would like to see a HerO vs MVP finals simply because long TvP's are more epic than PvP's, but I agree with you and think that we'll be seeing a HerO vs Parting finals. Although I must say that Parting vs Oz was worse imo than Naniwa vs MVP, maybe because of the bias I outlined above, but also because it didn't seem Oz was bringing his famed PvP prowess to the table. At least Naniwa vs MVP was dramatic enough to be able to adequately fill the gaps in the entertainment value in the series. People loved MMA for that, where's the MVP love? I don't quite agree. That mentality seems to dominate the foreigner crowd mostly, as can be seen with the Naniwa probe rush vs Nestea and the infamous showmatch throwing by IdrA. Whenever I watch interviews, the Koreans like MKP, MC, and DRG always seems to be first to thank their fans and mention a desire to entertain them with games. Obviously, in the ro32-ro8 phases of tournaments they don't really care that much since who cares if you put on a good show if you get knocked out early, but overall I think the pros definitely care about providing entertainment to the community.

Learn your shit Chill out and ignore the idiots lol. No need to explain, anyone who have watched GSL since the first days know how good MVP is in macro games. He's imba in late game no matter what. A good player know how to analyze and understand his opponent. MVP prepared for this match so well so he deserved to win.

Top players can defend cheese if they scout it. Naniwa failed to do that and i'm glad he lost. A greedy toss that can only win by being greedy is a bad toss. We need a champ that can cheese macro and defend cheeses!

Learn your shit I don't get this whole notion that cheese is bad. Cheese is part of the game. The goal is to win, using whatever strategy works best. Not cheesing when cheese is the best option, THAT would be dumb. Now, I understand that some people prefer long game, but calling MVP a bad player for using cheese is just fucking dumb. Naniwa is weak early game, it would be just dumb not to exploit this weakness.

I love you, MVP, but I don't think you'll beat Parting (nor do I want you to). :V

So yeah this is my own point of view regarding cheese, I am not appealing any one to support me or to comment this, but my FEELING today, is that MVP does not deserve any respect from me anymore. And I am not swedish, neither am I a protoss player, nor a fanboy. Just a regular fan of the GSL who'd like to see better games and more respect than a straight up 3 cheeses in a row. So yeah I spit on MVP and hope he will get his butt kicked by partying why not petition gsl to have a 20 min no rush rul then?
