Right, lots of content, makes a change from the previous game I was in (still ongoing so I know no discussion).
I agree with people's view that discussing the setup is not useful as it detracts from scumhunting. If people want me to explain why I started with the topic here are my reasons:
+ Show Spoiler +-
There may be a hidden town role out there that functions depending if its target is US or SU, or depending on how many there are of each. Maybe there's a mason that can only recruit US players. Maybe there's a medic that can only save SU ones. How would I know if I wasn't one of these roles myself? I was kinda thinking along those lines. Backed up by this: Nationality of the player have effect on PR roles - It was a mistake. I agree that any discussion of nationality is only good for scum at this point, the only way in which I see that changing is if 1. is true. Which, if discussed at this point is only helping scum.
Had a quick look at Blazinghand's filter as he seems to have initiated the most reactions from people... and that's just it, getting people's reactions can only be good for town. This being said, once you have those reactions you have analyse in a rigorous and systematic way (to prevent chaotic namecalling and mass-hysteria), something I'm not sure Blazinghand has done yet but perhaps at this early stage there is no need to.
So onto more contemporary topics:
C_C: Until he responds I don't want to feed him any excuses as he needs to respond himself as that nationality slip needs to be addressed as it only hurts town.
Gonzaw: @VE I know you weren't asking me in particular but I'd rather add to a new topic of conversation than clog up discussion with old ones. I don't see anything suspicious, neither do I see anything particularly useful to town apart from this: Also, I'd recomend nobody even slightly hint what nationality they are from. As far as I know, town don't get ANY information whatsoever if someone is US or SU, but scum can use that info to try and get their alternative win-con.
Which I know is a bit of a 'duh, anyone who read the OP and has a brain would realise that' moment, but ensuring that town is clear on how to win (or in this case not lose) can only be pro-town right?

All right. Home and caught up.
I agree with VE that cyber_cheese is definately suspicious. His nationaliy softclaim does nothing for town unless he has some master plan I am not aware of, and I dont like it at all.
He proceeds to than call VE out for his ego, yet he doesnt do anything with this statement, not making any sort of conclusion, simply implanting the idea that VE's claim to be good at da game is scummy. Not to mention that he drops it instantly after VE calls him back out, instead dodging what I felt was the essence of VE's question - why bother posting some crap when he didnt really want to push it, or have a solid opinion of it? Guess he really wanted something to go along with that nice little picture of his I guess.
I want to hear why he decided to soft claim his nationality.
Solid lynch at this rate.

Has anyone took a look at ccalf? He has posted NOTHING! besides his /in post.
IMO I find Sinensis generally unhelpful with his posts, he has only posted some useless question, and said hes gonna watch Blazinghand, I feel he needs to step up. You haven't asked or directed anything towards me so what am I supposed to say? It's only the first day, no need to get accusatory. While Blazinghand is being aggressive and a little narcissistic, it's just to stimulate conversation, I don't think he's scum.
This isnt a good excuse. Look at the rest of the people who have posted. Are they being asked questions? No. Take the initiative and push who you think is scum. Lurking (what you are currently doing btw) is extermely anti-town, since it makes it really difficult to ascertain wether you are a scared/clueless townie or a mafia lurking on purpose.
Since you appear to be new Ill help you a little. What do you think of Cyber_cheese? Who do you want to lynch today?
|
I also dont like how bluelightz decides to call cccalf out of all the lurkers (myself included thanks to school) at that point in time.
So, bluelightz, why him? Me and froggy posted one post each filled with useless crap (at that time), zentor and probably a few others didnt do much either. Any particular reason to call out the newbie?

Blazinghand ---> Catapaulted to very sure is townie from his recent posting(Active, Pressuring people, etc) and being funny and awesome in starcraft ^_^
Some random summaries
MrZentor --> Has been following Discussion, has not provided any reads, I'd love some reads from him.
gonzaw --> Has followed discussion, setup speculation, I'd love some reads and more content from him .
ET --> Townie, has followed discussion pressed people to post, preety townie
C_C ---> Needs to step up, he has nothing of substance, has not taken a stance on anything yet, I want reads, willing to lynch depending on what he post's next.
So, a huge assumption on BH, I think there isn't enough evidence on anyone being 'catapulted' into a townie read. All the other reads could be summarised as: 'people haven't contributed enough; its Day 1'...

PS: last day of term, going out in the evening, if I respond tonight it will be heavily fuelled by booze

IMO, froggy dont be a new Jackal58 XD,

Hmm, so who would be more worrying? A TOTALLY Inactive person or a person that has posted.

Both are equally worrying. Both contain nothing that lets one discern their alignments.
Anyways, so you brought him up. He posted a response which I personally feel is woely inadequate. What do you think about it?

His response:

Me:
wtf? I push targets I feel scummy and you are one, Day One is same like any other day but the fact that we have no info to go bye, You still seem scummy because you have no substance, NOTHING.
Well theres my response Zelblade(Random question but If I could shorten your name how could I do it?) And, what's your opinion on this as well?
|
So why did you drop off your "pressure" so easily? You didnt even bother to include him in your list of reads. Why is this so?
Anything is fine really, though ill prefer zel.
|
BH, I see you are still the overly-aggressive asshole from usual right?
I don't know what that initial stupid outburst from yours was about, but it produced some reactions and that's fine, but you need to stop these emotional outbursts of yours since they don't help anyone. If you are scum it's also easy to fake them to instill chaos, so stop. I think I said this in Aperture Mafia as well.
I see nothing wrong with johnys posts or his "case" against you, you acted very odd and there's nothing wrong in him calling you out. The subsequent bickering between you two was kind of useless and only cluttered things up. You can't infer johnys alignment from that bickering, you need to let him make other reads, contribute about other topics, and see what he does and how he does it. Continuing an argument based on some pointless thing will make it impossible for anyone to do so.
However BH, you were going against Nemensis (for some stupid reason like him waking up to post or something), and then you completely ignored him. Why's that? Do you still think Nemensis is scum for those reasons or were they part of your "show" to "pressure" and shit?
I find you are acting like in Aperture, being so confident and aggressive; which makes me think you are likely town. However I haven't seen you be scum (in a non-Resistance game), and you pushing that attitude of yours worries me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@VE: So, did that "prodding" of yours help at all or something? You "proded" several people based on some pointless stuff, but you never dwelled back on it again IIRC
@Echelon: What's with your weird wording? Saying things like "hip hip hurrah!" or "you are crAAAzy" and that weird attitude of yours? I don't remember you ever playing like that, seems you may be trolling or something.
@Bluelightz: You say ET is town and pressed people to post, do you have anything to back that up? Although I see you are posting lists now though
P.S: There, I used the "-----" line breaks you guys always love >_>
|
Hmm gonzaw has a good point, ET is usually pretty sane, why so crAAAzy this game?
And its not really the lack of linebreaks lol, but the fact that you hit enter about 5 times each new paragrpah
|
gonzaw, Use
[hr]
to make a linebreaks in the middle of posts, and zelblade, I didnt even notice his post =_= but I still think that he is scum.

Sorry, I have been dreaming.
Anyways, here are a few of my thoughts.
BH seems like a rash townie, who is fairly good a pressuring. However, he doesn't seem able to discern a noobie town from scum.
JW seems like a noobie town, who did the wrong thing under pressure and is now realizing this.
C_C looks a little suspicious because of his first post, but I feel that people are reading too far into that.
VE seems to be promoting a good townie environment and being a lot calmer than BH. I am most afraid of him being scum, because if he were, I would never know.
Those are a few thoughts on the biggest players. To be honest, I don't feel there is anybody worth analyzing yet, and there isn't much to analyze.

@gonzaw about ET some example of well, not "pressing" but pushing for more people to post

There, ET pushes Sinensis to post more of his thoughts. This is one of the reasons why I think he's town.
|
Zentor, since your here, What is your read on EchelonTee?
|
Bluelightz - if you have a town read on ET, what's the point of asking others their thoughts on him? To me, that seems to be fostering useless conversation to no reasonable end. Why? Why not scumhunt instead of see if people agree with your town-read?
|
Hmm VE Good Point, Gonna read some others though, as for my scum read, what do you think of cccalf's response to my post?
