Huk also calls people "nigga" on twitter, but i believe Orb was mainly fired was because he lied to EG's management, if not then the logic is idiotic Huk has never called anyone "nigger" as an insult and i believe EG managment has made huk delete tweets like that.

Seems a bit silly to fire him over old screenshots posted on reddit, do you really want the community to be able to influence decisions like this?
Don't you do research on people before hiring them anyway? It's well known in the community that Orb is a bad mannered/foul mouthed player. If you seriously think Orb meant anything against Black people, well, I think you're crazy.
This really is a shame, Orb is a great, well-spoken, knowledgeable caster with a lot to bring to the table, I feel bad for him.
Also, if you think that other players/employees of EG have never used words like this (the word faggot comes to mind, just as bad as the N word and used far more often), well, then you're just fooling yourself.

Not happy with the decision, but it's understandable given Orb lied directly to EG. Had he not I feel like this would be a complete over reaction.

We should also Email the sponsors to show how hippocritical they are :D

terrible. Guess he shoudlve checked out his boss's college major before running his mouth on the ladder

I love how people get butt hurt over a few choice words. They come in here and act like they're little saints who have never done anything bad in their life . EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE, has done something bad in their life. I am far from a religious person but I'm sure everyone is familiar with this phrase. "let he who has not sinned cast the first stone"
Is it that big of a deal, really? Does this guy not deserve a second chance?

This OP was the biggest QQ load of pc left wing bull crap i have ever seen in a games related forum. Want to talk about fueling injustices? How about we talk about legitimising and sustaining things that would probably go away if guilty white libtards stopped giving them meaning.
User was warned for this post

I'm not surprised EG has responded this way, and I don't fault their decision, as both a business and a part of the SC2 community, but this is a witch-hunt that never should have happened in the first place. I like orb, and think he is one of the best english commentators out there, and I think the lazy, meme-shitting teenagers that populate places such as r/starcraft can't tell the difference between what is given and what is earned. He gave up hours and hours of his time providing excellent commentary and content for the SC community, probably with very little remuneration, to get where he is (was).
And now, right as he becomes a part of EG and is able to really be a full-time commentator, someone posts a screenshot of a replay in which he gets angry and BMs. I don't believe for a second that his opponent was offended, and he could have just taken it for what it was and forgot about it. Instead he posts it on reddit and the whole community starts acting like Orb took a shit on their chest.
Well done, SC community, you bunch of whiny pussies.

I learned a lot about this through the differences in Australian and American culture over the past 15 years. The words cunt and bastard are probably the two biggest examples. Here in Australia such terms are treated with such lax that they are even sometimes used as terms of endearment (much like how black people sometimes use the word nigga amongst themselves) and as a result are view by their context and not the word itself.
EG here has completely overreacted solely on the word used and as a result severely damaged the career of an individual who is better at his job than almost anyone out there.
I am extremely disappointed in EG for this response and will no longer be supporting them or their sponsors.
Political correctness gone wrong.
A word can also cause much less offense when it's not used or used in the least possible frequency.

They've been my favourite team, I've got an EG mousepad, and one of the Hoodies and generally watch a lot of the team in general.
That certainly ends today.
This type of caving in to pressure by a loud, vicious minority of people who were hunting, not out of genuine offense, but to cause drama is an incredible display of horrible judgement and a complete lack of loyalty.
I could give two shits about orb...and to be honest, no one could. Nobody REALLY cares about it. It's just something to talk about between events.
Totally selling out an employee to save your own ass, especially while completely tolerating IdrA's...existence, and inviting Destiny onto EG sponsors and produced shows is so hypocritical as to be laughable.
I don't believe a single damn word Alex Garfield said, and his fake offendedness over this word is so ridiculous it's not worthy of any respect. It's the worst type of fake, two-faced holier-than-thou bullshit you can get.
Shove your sanctimonious bullshit and hypocritical policy and fuck off.
Or to quote your Own popular Team Member IdrA: "This Game is Retarded" and "The Game is worse because of Fags like you"
Can I have your mouse pad? You can when my TL one gets here
Wait really? If you want to get rid of your hoodie + mousepad, I'll PM you my address. Not joking. This post made me a fan of EG.

Still i dislike racism. I dont think Orb is a racist. I think Orb reacted wrong to the case. Still im sad for him.
Fully understand EGs reaction.
ps: btw.. i hope these people who contacted the sponsors of EG will also contact them for positive response.
welcome to the real world, your actions have consequences.

Just curious... why is it ok to refer to Caucasians/Europeans as "white" but not African-Americans as "black" and Asians as either "yellow" or "brown"? Anyone else see the problem with this statement?
It's fine to use the word "black" still. And "caucasian" isn't correct anyways. It implies that one's ancestors came from the Caucasus Mountain area of Europe/Asia.
What annoys is how the word "asian" seems to only mean people from East Asia nowadays. Asia is a huge continent with people of all types

Nice written out post, I believe everything you said.

Bravo, Alexander, and mad props to Team Evil Geniuses for showing everybody that they truly are a zero-tolerance organization for this kind of crap. Thank you for making yourselves a leader in the community fighting this battle, and I agree wholeheartedly about hoping we all collectively stop tolerating homophobia.

I don't know what exactly caused the outrage... but I do not think it had anything to do with the community's "core values." Look no further than Destiny defending the fact that he says "nigger" and those who championed him for that or no one caring when HuK said it on twitter to his tens of thousands of followers. This is not a proud day. There was no comcomitance of morals amongst Starcraft Players. I believe this incident was nothing more than people creating drama for the sake of drama.
