First of all, the top 8 are somewhat of an unexpected group:
Casy, Zergman, Yellow, Shinhwa, Iris, Chojja, JJu, Yellow[name] (6 zergs, 2 terrans)
This consists of 3 very very old school players (Chojja, Yellow, JJu) and 5 quite new players (Casy, Zergman, Iris, Yellow[name], Shinwha)
What's wierd: Boxer was eliminated by Shinhwa, a rookie, in his Boxer's best matchup
Oov, the 1st place seed eliminated first round July, the 2nd place seed almost eliminated first round, eliminated immediately in the wildcard matches Pusan, the 3rd place seed eliminated first round Sea, the 4th place seed, eliminated in R16 by a rookie: Yellow[name]
Of the 6 1st place group stage players (Cloud, Rock, Boxer, Sea, Nal_rA, Yellow) only 1 advanced to the quarter finals: Yellow
Every single player who qualified in the wildcard matches advanced to the quarter finals: Casy, Yellow[name], Iris, Shinhwa
Also, no protosses in the quarter finals
Maybe someone who has more knowledge than i do could tell us how longs its been since THAT happened
Last, there are 2 possible Royal Road candidates still in the starleague: Shinhwa and Yellow[name]
cool starleague so far : ]
i'd also like to thank jkillashark for his amazing coverage of this starleague. Much of the above info was pulled from him

With all the big names in it... July, Oov, and Boxer, I was expecting atleast one of them to get the golden mouse. (Figured oov was most likely).
But, considering how high the level of competition is in korea it's no surprise that they're out.

Final 16, I was almost so certain that either Boxer or Sea[shield] was going to win it all.
I didn't expect Nal_ra to advance in a BO3 or BO5 against a big name Zerg.
I hope the Grand Final would have at least 1 Terran. ZvZ = T_T

I'm just very happy it's been an entertaining league till now, just the entertainment value of the games could be upped a bit. Most are pretty straightforward or early wins, ah well it's the game but I'd love some friggin' pimpest plays

Sea is also an OSL rookie :/ He just got in earlier

I was surprised to see July knocked out =_=

Worst Starleague ever in term of big names and matchups.

I also noticed that every single player who advanced from the wildcard are playing in the Elite 8. I would really like to see YellOw finally win a Starleague.

Its very dissapointing...theres way too many *new* names and not enough veteran appeal.
And a LOT of the new nicknames aren't exactly awe-inspiring (and yes I like my sc heroes to have cool nicks eg Nal_rA my favorite nick evar).

Yeah, it's a cool starleague.
I knew, those rookies were going to do good in big leagues. :D

gg, no protoss. people still think Starcraft is balanced?

Well toss has always sucked. Very suprising though that so many zergs are left! None of the maps I think are very favoured for Zerg

Seriously, this is getting annoying, do you remember the starleague anytime won? ONE zerg qualified from his group (july) and lost immiediately to oov 0-2.
Do you know why no protoss players qualified this time around? Do you know why only one qualified that time?
Because of the maps. Maps and the fact that ANYONE can beat anyone right now in korea, the competition is sick.

In other news, this starleague is dreadful. The only player left who is worth rooting for (Yellow[name]) has to play a bunch of zvzs against *way* more experienced pros, so he can be considered already eliminated. What a crapfest. At least Gay-llow might finally get his OSL title, whopee.

The last time we had this happen in an OSL, 2 terrans owned the crap out of 6 zergs. So if this one mirrors the previous one, we will have TvT semifinals with a terran player taking 1st place and 3rd place, and yellow getting second.
